It has been one year since your death. Although we hit the streets as usual we all remember that day. I remember the 0130 phone call from Nikki all to well and the hours of disbelief that followed.
I spoke with your wife Shannon on 04/25/06. She is doing well but it was a ruff day for her. Bonnie and I will be going to the Memorial as your name is added to the list that continues to grow.
Rest in Peace and continue to watch over us.

To Detective Tony Hosey and his loved ones and his fellow officers:

On this the first anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is revered and honored today.

May your family continue be to comforted by the warm embrace of their law enforcement family, and other police survivors who share this painful journey with them. My heart is with your family and I look forward to meeting them in D.C.

Reading all the loving reflections left by those who cared for you gives us an understanding of what a good and honorable man you were and of the high esteem with which you are held.

Tony, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Detective Hosey. I am so humbled by your valor and courage.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Detective Hosey gave to his community and the citizens of Illinois, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 25, 2005.

Well brother it's been a year and a long one at that. Your smile, humor and warm personality have definately been missed. Thinking back to my first days at the University and remembering that loooooooong car ride down to O'Herron's with you and Sgt. Summers. I remember thinking I must be crazy, but after getting to know you I realized you were just big teddy bear. I've remembered all the buy bust fun while I was on 3-11, the late night star gazing with you and Earl and even the way the office looked on Monday mornings while I was in detectives (ha ha). We were hired together just five days apart and I always felt for that reason we held a bond. You taught me alot and I try to pass that knowledge on everyday. Rest easy brother on this day and know that we carry the flame and your spirit with us in our hearts.

I've left a reflection in the past and was just reading some of the more up to date postings. Shannon, if I may be so bold as to call you by your first name, you obviously did indeed love your husband deeply. I've been deeply touched and moved by your postings. It's apparent that MANY have felt the pain of Tony's departure but you, who held that special place in his life, have not held back any of your thoughts and feelings. We all yearn for such love and devotion. Tony was obviously a very lucky and blessed man.

My deepest sympathy to all who felt the loss, but to you especially. God bless you and keep you and I truly believe that you really DO have Tony with you, always.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. May you be comforted and embraced by the circle of love and support you will receive from the law enforcement community, and other police survivors. This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Tony gave to his community and the citizens of Illinois, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made in the line of duty. His dedication to his work will be forever remembered and his memory honored. His memorial page reflects what a distinquished and meritorioius law enforcment career he had....a real warrior in the battle against drugs. How tragic he had to die at such a young age leaving a loving wife and four children.

Hi sweets! Just wanted to let you know I was invited to receive the Police Cross on the 16th of August on your behalf. You are one of 5 officers that ended their watch in the last 12 months. I will be there to accept this award and will hold my head high and be proud of your work as I have always been. Hey you wouldn't believe it, but I have lost 40+ pounds since I lost you. I know you liked me heavier, but with my back and all, this is best. I look durned good babe...you would be proud that I did it even so. I love you and miss you.

Well baby, our beautiful house goes on the market tomorrow morning (soooo sad)....I also sold your bike. Didn't get what I thought it was worth, but do you ever with customization? No. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know things are moving along ok, and some of the burdens are beginning to lessen. I'm still with you every second of every day....me and Jess and the baby (and maybe Alice - she still hasn't made up her mind yet) are getting a family portrait done. There might be something wrong with Na's hearing, but we shall see. I also talked with your mom. We are much calmer now and I told her that I would not forget her and would help her in any way that I can. Anyway, that's about it babe..just wanted to give you an update on what's going on. I love you!
