Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Mark Anthony Cross

To the family, we will never be able to replace you're husband, father, brother, son, nephew and friend... but we do understand an honorable man and the greatest possible sacrifice. He lived to make the world a little safer for us. I continue to do the same in his precious memory.

I HAVE A HERO....

I have a Hero,
This person is one who gets dressed for work each day just like everyone else
I have a Hero,
Who kisses their spouse and children before they leave for work not knowing if they will return at the end of the day to hold them once again
I have a Hero,
Who must confort the scared, console the troubled, and protect even the gulity
I have a Hero,
Who arrives to a situation where a child has been killed and must remember that the suspect has "rights"
I have a Hero,
That puts on a uniform each day with a vow to Serve and Protect
Yes,I have a Hero....

Who was killed in the Line of Duty today, and with him a part of America died
I have a Hero,
Who goes by the name of Peace Officer....

May God Bless all of Our Fallen Brothers and Sisters in Blue. While we honor the lives of those no longer with us.-

Freedom and sacrifice are two words the protected will never fully understand. Mark you have been taken before your time, and paid in blood so the people in your community can be free and safe. We have not lost just a police officer in this country. We have lost a father, a husband, a brother and a friend. I am honored that I had the opportunity to meet you during the training in Forsyth and develop a friendship. As I mourn for your death and pray for your family to heal, I keep my head high and know that you are a true hero and will always be my friend. Rest in peace my brother.

Jesus is my front sight,
Sovereign in my life.

In slumber, or in battle,
He guides my warrior stride.

Jesus is my front sight,
FOR HIM NO MAN I FEAR!

Jesus is my front sight,
Twas He who led me here.

If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go, Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always, Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own, And in time when men decide and feel safe to call the streets insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind. We will see you in Elysium…
