Reflections for Police Officer Larry Randolph Cox

I remember working at JR Valentines, third shift while Ofc. Cox was on duty there on the week ends as an added security. I always looked forward to the nights he was there, because there was never a dull moment. He was a generous man with everything he had, including; knowlege, humor, and a striving will to protect this community. There are alot of sad souls today and they will remain sad. Larry, when you were taken from this world, a piece of us all was taken as well. And I just want you to know that you will be greatly missed, and never ever forgotten. May you rest in peace. My heart goes out to the family and loved ones, and all those children who have to spend the rest of their school days without you in front of them, teaching them the right way. Your way. Again, Rest in peace, dear friend.

Heartfelt prayers go out to the family, friends, co-workers and the community of Officer Cox. May God give you comfort, strength and courage during this difficult road that lies ahead of you. There are no words I can say that will help the pain you experience in your hearts but please know there are people there for you - let them be. The people of Ohio are so supportative, they were there for me when I lost my son and I thank God for them.
Officer Cox may you rest in peace, keep a close watch over those who you loved and cared for

Officer Cox, you are truly a hero to this little community. You loved the kids of Chillicothe and it's obvious they loved you. You will never be forgotten. You will live on the hearts of all the children of this town. You touched them - each & every one. My daughters thought the world of you and will miss you so much.

My oldest daughter met Officer Cox at a DARE presentation at the pre-school she attended. She came home and told me all about "Officer Cop" and what a great guy he was. She said she knew she was safe because "Officer Cop" would protect her. Now she's in 3rd grade. She asked me "Will we be safe without Officer Cox?" I told her "Yes, his brothers in the Police Department will protect us just like he did."

RIP, Officer Cox. You served your community well. We will miss you and never forget you.

Thank you Officer Cox for all you have done for our community. Thank you for your love and dedication to keeping us safe. Thank you for caring for the children so much. Thank you for always taking the time to smile and wave to my little boys when we dropped their big brother off at school- they liked to find your car in the school parking lot. We, and the whole community, will miss you more than words can express. You truly are a hero and your memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone. To Officer Cox's family and fellow officers, we offer you our deepest sympathies and prayers. May God watch over all, and keep us safe.

Well, buddy. Today is the day we have to say goodbye. This is going to be really hard on a lot of people and as usual we are counting on you to help us make it through.

We are all trying to be strong for everyone knowing that we shouldnt even have too.

I guess I didnt really imagine the impact that you have on people. There were so many people that came to the service last night. So many people telling so many stories about you. I wish you were there although I swear I heard that "laugh" of yours at one point. Talk to ya soon.

C ya.

May God Bless you Officer Cox and all of your family at home and work. Another above and beyond officer doing all he can at work, and at home (truly making a difference) has been taken years before his time for reasons none of us uderstand at this time. To the coward that did this ... your day is soon approaching!

To the family and friends of Officer Cox my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Know that you will never be alone in the long road that you have ahead.
To Officer Cox - it is clearly shown that you were truly one of the finest. It is such a tragedy that an act of senselessness took you from your family and friends. You are a true hero sir. Rest in peace...

IN THIS TIME OF SORROW, WE MOURN THE LOSS OF ANOTHER BROTHER IN UNIFORM. AGAIN WE DAWN THE BLACK MOURNING BAND OVER OUR BADGES AND WONDER, "WHY", "WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN??" AGAIN WE STAND AT ATTENTION FOR THE "LAST CALL", THE SOUND OF TAPS AND THE TEARS THAT ARE SHED BY EVEN THE MOST HARDENED OFFICER, HARDENED BY SEEING YET ANOTHER BROTHER IN UNIFORM LAYED TO REST DUE TO ONE PERSONS COWARDLY ACT OF VIOLENCE. OFFICER COX YOU WILL BE MISSED AND MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AS YOU PATROL HIS STREETS IN HEAVEN.

TO: The family; loved ones; friends and department members: A POLICE OFFICER’S PRAYER:--- O, gentle Lord ! Keep the day/night watch with me. As I begin my tour of duty, I ask your protection from all mental, physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people. Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be courageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Let me respond to all calls with haste realizing that so many are dependent upon me for life and safety. Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think no one really cares and that I am taken for granted. Sustain in me the conviction that so many thousands do care and are grateful for my presence. Grant that I may be loyal to my partner and my fellow officers, and that I may back them up effectively when called upon for assistance. Lord, I ask that I may return safely, after my tour of duty, to my loved ones and those who love me. I pray that I may be a good and honorable police officer; and after my tour of duty is over here on earth, may I enjoy the peace and happiness of heaven that you have promised to those who serve you well. AMEN. *** REST IN PEACE *** Sent to you by the father of Detective J.D.Koeppen, Raleigh North Carolina; Trooper D.C.Koeppen, New Jersey State Police and Patrolman A.M.Koeppen, Wilmington North Carolina.
