God must have needed a Police Officer. Some one to protect souls in heaven. Jesse was called to do a job that only a few can do.He will do it with honor as he did hear with us.

I met Jesse several years ago while working at the city's EMS station. He and other officers would stop in for coffee and a few minutes of "down time" when their busy shifts would allow. I guess the fact that we shared the same first name was an easy ice breaker for conversation, but his extremely outgoing personality and the sense of humor he posessed quickly made him a friend. Over the years I got to know Jesse fairly well thru our chats at the EMS station, and often felt secure when we reached a scene with the police and saw he was there. About two years ago I experienced a difficult and emotional time in my life, to which Jesse's level head and sharp wit were able to help me keep all my "marbles" together and not get myself in trouble. I greatly appreciated the lending of his ear for me to bend, and it made me value the man as a friend even more. I hadn't seen Jesse for a few months when I heard about Friday's terrible news. Although it has left me with a hollow feeling in my stomach since, I know he is in a better place now and have no doubt that his family will be well taken care of by his police brothers. Jesse, you will be terribly missed. Godspeed my friend, I will never forget you.

Officer Sollman....There is never a time when I am more afraid than during my husband's SWAT training days...Sometimes it is out of the tragedy of error that good things happen...perhaps your experience will serve to protect those following in your foot steps and make all aspects of law enforcement...including the training...safer for you all.....may your friends and family find peace and understanding....Godspeed, Sir....

Yoooooooooooooooooo!

You would say that to me EVERY morning. 0800 sharp.

Although I only knew you for a little over one year, you made a huge impact in my life. You were very serious, you were very silly. You were a tough guy, you were a teddy bear! You are beyond describable in this space. SO full of life!! So powerful.

2004 was a year that stands out in my life and that was mostly attributable to you and I love you for that.
I'll always remember our hours long conversations about the world and life.

You and I shared the intense passion of our truck accessory shop like two little brothers building the ultimate tree fort. You loved that shop!!

Your passion extended into many areas. You were an awesome father. Nothing was more funny than watching big tough "Soulcat" play with his young children making goofy faces and talking their language.

Although you're gone, you live on with me everyday. Not a day passes that I don't catch myself going "Yooooooo!" or saying "10-4" Even my little boy gives me a "Yoooo!" when I talk to him. He thinks I'm the coolest because he identifies that with me. Little does he know how cool the originator Mr Soulcat was.

I love you man, I only wish I could have told you. Thanks for everything!

Your pal,
Jeff Van Dam

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Jesse and to the City of Easton Police Dept. on their loss. I did not know Jesse personally, but, did have an occasion to speak to him by phone on several occasions. Jesse showed the upmost courtesy and professionalism when he spoke to me. I consider it a loss, to me, not to have know him personally. Not only is this a great and tragic loss to his family, but, also to the Easton Police Dept. and the entire Law Enforcement community. Jesse exemplified the traditions and professioanlism that is expected of a fine police officer and was a member of a truly excellent police department in the Lehigh Valley.
Officer Jesse E. Sollman, may you rst in peace.
