“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but a two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

Knowing every time you make that crucial fall.
That he will come when you call.
To come and pick you up.
Or talk you out of that treacherous jump.

Whether the roads are slippery and wet.
He would still come not knowing if you’ve met
Even if Mother Nature sweeps away the trees.
He’ll be flying down that highway like a breeze.

He’ll come with the peddle pressed to the dime.
Anxiously questioning if he’ll be in time.
Surprising all with his sirens and lights.
Wondering if he’s gonna break up a fight.

He’s there to help you through it all.
Even if you were completely wrong.
To keep peace even if his life is on the line.
He’ll be there to stop the crime.

When and how you hit that alarm.
He’ll be there to prevent your harm
Whether he has to stop evil in it’s tracks.
He won’t let him make that bloodshed attack.

When you drive drunk at night.
He’ll be there with his flashing blue lights.
Running may be an option you might want to take.
But he won’t let you run from your mistake.

Trooper, Trooper you are the best
Coming far from close to all the rest.
Your life’s the dream I want to come true.
Hopefully one day it will come too.

When and how it comes to the end.
The Trooper will be there standing tall again.
It’s not easy being the best.
That’s why seconds are for all the rest.

R.I.P Sgt.Graham as u have taken your final 10-42, know that u will not be forgotten and will be deeply missed. Another hero has crossed the thin blue line, i didn't know u but thanks for putting your life on the line everyday u went to work and may justice be served to who committed this senseless act

God Bless

I just read the account on Sergeant Graham. First and foremost I want to thank him for his sacrifice. Secondly, I pray for his wife, son and co-workers that they may find peace during this time.
Just know that there are lots of folks out here that care deeply...even old retired cops in Texas. God bless you all.

I graduated from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy in April of 1982 from the Police officer training academy offered by the patrol to train officers from other departments. I worked as a police officer in Missouri for many years and have allways had the greatest respect and admiration for all of the members of the patrol. it is with great heartache That we have lost one of the Best our state has entrusted to represent the Badge and enforce the laws of the state of Missouri. I will pray for your son and will allways honor you my brother in blue. God Bless Your family as they continue on knowing you are now one of the MSHP standing tall at the gates of Heaven.
