Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Carl Dewayne Graham, Jr.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:1-16

We choose to be the gaurdians for those who need help gaurding themselves. We are only heros by chance. Sgt. Graham go to that higher place go and recieve your reward that God has for you. We will miss you but we will miss more that we can not be there to get our reward with you. To the family it will get better our prayers are with you and we will catch the responsible. YOU CAN NOT HIDE.

Upon the markers of their graves
Our heroes etched in names we save
For all the life they gave with pride
To keep the peace within life's stride

To honor serve and do their best
To keep us safe through any quest
They gave up what was theirs to share
Their spirits shall be always near

No fear within the hearts and minds
To keep us safe within our times
The glory that is ours to see
Those special hearts of bravery

They have walked where no man dare
Their lives in danger with no care
For they have given all they could
For their courage we have stood

In awe of every one who gave
His life for others who they saved
So we will know their contribution
Their firm resolve and resolution

For those they left with hearts so broken
In every whispered word that's spoken
We bow our heads in confirmation
In every word life's revelation

Those who stand within their shoes
Will follow courage as they choose
And give to all the best they had
They carry on with spirits glad

We will know that they walked through
With colors bright and hearts so true
No Island stands alone they say
For heroes they are born this way

Protecting those with loyalty
A glimpse of so much royalty
Within the years of courage bound
These officers have earned their crown

Upon the earth we shall remember
The special goals and all their thunder
That proves a hero came our way
Who left their hearts on earth to stay.

To the family of Sgt. Graham:
My family knows first hand the pain that you are feeling. My cousin, OHP Trooper Nik Green was killed in the line of duty Dec. 26, 2003. There is nothing that I can say to take that pain away. Just please know that your grief is shared by everyone who has lost a loved one this way. Isaiah 43 says, I have redeemed you and called you by name, You are mine. May God give you peace.

To the Family, Friends, and Co-Workers in your grief and sorrow words can not change reality, words can only provide a link between you and we whose hurt is less direct, and you whose hurt is personal and horrendous. Words can help assure you that others care, that you are loved, and that you are not alone. God speed Sgt. Graham.

It is so sad to think that we keep our phone numbers and addresses unlisted for good reason. I am so sorry this violent thug followed you home and took your life just because you have been an enforcer. God Bless You! and God Bless your family, I pray that your little boy will grow up knowing what a HERO you are. I know that no one will ever let him forget. You are now with all the other men and women in blue, walking a beat on heaven's streets. I am sorry for your parents - the pride they must feel cannot possible outweigh the grief and sadness, but they can remember what an honorable man you are. Your brothers and sisters in uniform will take good care of them all. Rest in Peace!
