Reflections for Police Officer II William Andrew "Drew" Henley
This is just the first of many milestones we must endure without you Drew. Each day we miss your smile, your laugh, your love. We seach desperately everywhere to find just onee more small piece of you to no avail. I don't know how I will go on without you, but I am trying. We are all trying to find a way to survive. That is all we can do now, survive. Our lives will never be the same. Our hearts will forever be broken. We love you. I love you, forever. I miss you baby. I hope you are happy where you are. We can't wait to see you again. Keep an eye on all of us, Lord knows we need it. xoxoxo

Drew you will never know how much Jeff, Kristin, and I will miss you. It has taken me a long time to be able to write this...You were always there for me whenever I needed you which was all the time wasn't it!! Kristin is going to forever miss her "Dew" and being chased around the house by you and giving you kisses. I still look for you every morning when I am on my way to work. I am still waiting for your phone call telling me to slow it down! You have made such an impact in all of our lives Drew and I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to know and love you. Thank you for always being there for me and for welcoming my family into yours. Your smile will forever be missed. Love you always my friend, Leslie Irwin

Drew was my best friend. He took me under his wing 17 years ago when I entered high school. The world lost a great man when Drew died. I can only imagine what good deeds he is doing with God. I look forward to seeing him on the other side one day. His death leaves a hole that can't be filled. My my heart goes out to all who worked with, knew and loved him.
I would also like to commend the Men and Women of the Suffolk Police Department. The love, support, and professionlism shown by everyone was a testiment of true brother and sisterhood. Drew was blessed to work with a group as fine as you.
Drew... I love you, man. I miss you dearly. I will see you again...

Although I never personally knew Drew Henley, I wish to pass on my condolences to both his Family and Colleagues. I have known two Officers from my Station lose their lives in the past three years. Although I am an Ocean away from you Guys I am thinking of you. I am one of two Brits coming out there for this years Unity Tour. I will be thinking of Drew when doing this years ride.

I will never forget when you came to the department and started working with us in dispatch before you went to the academy. You were so excited. When you were on the street after academy, you never forgot where you started within the department. You were always courteous to the dispatchers, no matter what was going on out there. I was very sad when I heard that you were being transferred from A Squad to C Squad. I will never forget working over on the midnight shift three nights before your death. I heard you on 1C trying to get into something. I sent you an email saying it sounded like you were adjusting well to midnights. If I had only known that would be the last time I would talk to you.
I had a conversation today with a citizen who called in wanting to speak with the officer that worked her son's car accident this past fall. She was struggling to remember the name, but went on about how nice he was and how much he helped them. Then all of a sudden, she said "His name was Officer Henley. A thousand angels must have been watching over me for me to remember that."
I had to tell her that you had passed away a week and a half ago. There was silence on the other end of the line as I thought to myself, "It wasn't a thousand angles, it was just one."
You will be missed always.

Drew,
Your courage and dedication will be missed, but you leave a legacy in your children. They have watched you be brave day after day and they will always remember what you have taught them and stood for. God Bless and Rest in Peace.
Chrissy,
Be strong and remember that you will always have friends that will be there for you.
Children,
Always remember that your Daddy was a HERO to many! He loved every aspect of his job and he showed that through his hard work and dedication. It takes a special person to be the kind of HERO that your Daddy was.
To the rest of the family,
May God be with you; you’re in my thoughts and prayers. You all are great people and have accomplished many things. Every day you touch someone’s life whether it’s through music, dance or anything else just as Drew did throughout every day of his duty.

Drew, I want to thank you for being such a wonderful person. You made life so enjoyable for my sister and my family when you came into our lives. Your exceptional abilty to stand for what is 'right' and teach that to others is what I will most certainly remember you most for. You created comfort to everyone and accepted responsibilities beyond expectation. These qualities will be remembered and most importantly have been taught to 4 beautiful children who will benefit from your beliefs and morals.
Thank you for being you.

Drew, You came into our lives like a fire storm. Your dedication to duty, life and family is an inspiration to me and my family. I enjoyed our days we spent patroling the halls of Kings Fork together. I wish I had the opportunity to be on a squad with you, but I will enjoy and cherish all the time we spent. I know how much you enjoyed Bush Gardens and I will take my family there this year in your honor. I will give you one more ride on The Lochness. Rest well my brother, you WILL be MISSED.......

You were and are a wonderful husband and wonderful father by just giving yourself with open arms and pure love – Love that was shared not only within my family, but with everyone you knew. You were selfless, true and honest in everything you did and you will always baffle me. I remembered watching you taking care of the people I loved and my only regret is holding in how happy I was you were there. I was truly amazed – how did you do it? Well, now I want you to know how thankful I am, and how honored I am, that you were, and will continue to be, such an amazing part of in my family’s life.
You are the genuine testament of honor, morals, truth and love that can not be compared to anyone in this world. I will never forget what you’ve given to my family and me.
Thank You Drew…
