Patrolman Chase, today marks the 75th anniversary of your tragic death. I can only speculate at what transpired between you and the man who struck you (apparently not deliberately) as he drove you all over town trying to get help. The accident at that construction site is a reminder to all of us that we cannot control everything and bad things can happen, no matter how careful we are.

Though your family lost your body to the Earth, I believe they kept your spirit with them always and that to this day, Wareham is a better place for your being there.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
