Reflections for Assistant SAC David Gray Wilhelm
In loving memory of a special S.A.
It has been 6 months since you left
us and I have thought of you countless times. You were such an
exceptional person, someone of your caliber passes this way only occasionally. We mourn the contributions you would have made
to this nation and the great loss to
your wife, family, co-workers and friends. My heart bleeds for all of them. All of us will never get over
you and futhermore, we won't ever
want to. You'll be in our hearts forever, whether we knew you or not.

To the family and friends of Agent David Wilhelm and fellow officers with the US Dept. of Homeland Secuity and other customs agents:
On behalf of our entire famiy, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered with the brutal murder of Agent Wilhelm. I was saddened to read about the incident that took Agent Wilhelm's life. His bravery and valor will be forever remembered.
In reading the reflections about him, it is obvious he was a dedicated and experienced officer who was admired and loved by many. His dedication to his family and job will not be forgotten.
My family grieves with you and for you.
In April, we lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg Police Department when he was fatally shot during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the eighteen years of service David gave to his community and his country, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 12, 2005.

To the Wilhelm family...David will long be remembered by all who knew and worked with him. I consider it both a privilege and an honor to have worked with him on joint operations in Charlotte, NC. Dave taught us many lessons about life. He died doing what he loved...and the impact of his professionalism will live on forever. ALL LEO's now have one more angel to cover their "6" and keep them safe from harm. In death as in life, your commitment to mankind has spoken volumes. Until we meet again...

Family, Friends, and Loved Ones of Assistant SAC David Wilhelm,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart breaks for all of you. It's always so sad to hear about other lives being taken, when they were only trying to bring peace and goodness to this world.
I know and understand the pain of losing someone you love so deeply. I lost the love of my life, Josh Blyler, almost a year ago. He was a brave man, just like David---they are heros in my eyes and so many other's eyes. There aren't any words that anyone can say to take away the pain. Just know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Hold tight to all your memories of David and keep them close to your hearts. I feel Josh with me every day....David will be with you all as well. Again, I'm so sorry for you loss.
God bless,
Kelly

The loss of one our own can never be fully understood. Agent Wilhelm stood guard to protect the country he loved and was taken because of it. May GOD watch over his family and lead him to the gates to stand with St. Peter to watch over us all. I only wish I could shoulder the grief his family has to bear.My thoughts are with them and the memories of their Father, Husband and Son.

Dear Candee and Wilhelm Family: I've known David since transferring from Miami, FL to Chalreston, SC in 1990. After David was selected to the group supervisor position in the ICE Norfolk, VA office, we had a long conversation about his leaving the "streets" and going into management. David had trepidations but excited about his new assignment. Sometimes good agents don't always make good supervisors. David, as with everything else he did, excelled to the fullest. Giving respect and getting it is something you have to earn! David always earned the respect of those around him. I'll miss a good friend and colleage.
