To Jennifer
I can only imagine the pain you are going through. I hope you will take comfort in knowing that Tom’s love for you will live on forever. You and your daughter will be in my prayers and I promise that Tom’s memory and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
To Adria Lynne
I hope some day you will understand that your father died protecting the freedoms most people take for granted. As you grow up, never question your father's love for you. He died doing his very best to make the world you will grow up in a better, safer place.
To my brothers and sisters of the Atlantic City Police Department
My heart goes out to all of you. Go forward with the knowledge that you are filling in the gap of the Thin Blue Line left by Tom’s death. I know you will carry on the mission because, like Tom, you know how important your role is in keeping our communities safe.

I just wanted to let his family know how sorry I was to hear about the loss of their beloved Thomas. I know from experience, it is not an easy time right now, but know that the pain does ease. Let the gift of those times that you did have be a ray of sunshine. Thomas will live on in each of the lives he touched! His daughter can be proud that her Daddy was a protector of the people and she will always have a special guardian angel watching over her!
I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers!

FINAL CALL
An Angel In The Sky Must Leave His Place Of Rest, Gently Tucking His Wings Beneath His Armored Vest. For Duty Has Called, There Is Much Work To Do
Little Did He Know, This One Is Dressed In Blue. Arriving On The Scene, He Knows Just What To Say, "Follow Me, Fallen Brother, I'll Show You The Way."
"Your Duty Has Ended, Your Work Is Now Through." "Come Hand Your Hat Beside Mine. I'm A Cop, Too."

A policeman was killed last night.
He died while protecting your rights.
His creed was to protect and serve.
This fate he didn't deserve.
A mom and dad have lost a son.
So many other jobs he could've done.
His wife and kids are left alone.
Their daddy won't be coming home.
His fellow officers are hurt so deep.
For a fallen brother they weep.
The morning paper will print a story.
About a policeman who died in glory.
The flags will fly at half mast.
Politicians and citizens will seem sad.
The funeral is tommorrow at noon.
It will all be over very soon.
That a policeman was killed last night.

“When God made Peace Officers….”
When the lord was creating Peace Officers, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, “You’re doing a lot of fiddling around on this one.”
And the Lord said, Have you read the spec on this order? A Peace Officer has to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter homes the health inspector wouldn’t touch, and not wrinkle their uniform.
They have to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses, and testify in court the next day.
They have to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee and half- eaten meals. And they have to have six pairs of hands.
The angel shook her head slowly and said, “Six pairs of hands….No Way.”
“It’s not the hands that are causing me the problems,” said the Lord, “It’s the three pairs of eyes an officer has to have.”
That’s on the standard model? asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. One pair that sees through a bulge in a pocket before he asks, “May I see what’s in there sir?” (When they already know and wishes they had taken that accounting job.) Another pair here in the side of their head for their partners’ safety. And another pair of eyes here in front that can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say, “ You’ll be alright ma’am, when they know it isn’t so.”
“Lord,” said the angel, touching his sleeve,” rest and work tomorrow.”
“I can’t,” said the Lord, “I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk into a patrol car without incident and feed a family of five on civil service paycheck.”
The angel circled the model of the Peace Officer very slowly, “Can it think?” she asked.
“You bet,” said the Lord, “It can tell you elements of a hundred crimes, recite Miranda warnings in it’s sleep; detain, investigate, search, and arrest a gang member on the street in less time than it takes five judges to debate the legality of the stop…and still it keeps it’s sense of humor.
This officer also has phenomenal personal control. They can deal with crime scenes painted in HELL, coax a confession from a child abuser, comfort a murder victim’s family’ and then read in the daily paper how Law Enforcement isn’t sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects.
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Peace Officer. “There’s a leak,” she pronounced. “I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model.”
“That’s not a leak,” said the Lord, “It’s a tear.”
“What’s the tear for?” asked the angel.
“It’s for bottled-up emotions, for fallen comrades, for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the American flag, and for justice.”
“You’re a genius,” said the angel.
The Lord looked sober. “I didn’t put it there,” he said.

My condolences to the family, friends and co-workers. You will be walking a road no wife, parent, or co-worker wants to walk, and it will be a long one. The only thing that I could think of, was knowing how much Clint loved being a police officers. He had told me he had his perfect job.
Officer McMeekin your family will miss you everyday, but we will never forget you. Look Clint up for me tell him I miss and love him more everyday...
