Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Haven Blake Gammill
I knew Blake since he was 10 years old. He used to make extra money by dressing up in a chicken suit and joking around with customers by the companies that hired him. Ours was one of them and it is my favorite memory of Blake. Hero that he became, I'll always remember that funny kid inthe chicken suit. What a great guy.

Just wanted you family to know that I am thinking about them today. Although I wish we had met under different cirrcustances, I am truely glad I have gotten the chance to know them. They are great, and I love them all very much. I know that they still love and miss you dearly and this is a sad day for them. Thank you for your service and for your sacrifice. Gone but not forgotten!

Eddie, Scott and I visited the cemetery and the Douglas County Courthouse tonight and ate at Monterey's. We laughed, told stories and just wished you were here with us. We miss you so much Blake. You are always in my thoughts. I love you so much. Anita.

Dearest Blake,
It has been forever since our eyes met but I see you everyday through our children. I miss you so much! It is so hard doing this by myself. (I need you to peel me off the ceiling when the girls start acting like you!) There are still times when I am not even thinking and go to call you when one of the girls are sick or do something great. Haven tumbled a round-off and 4 back handsprings friday at cheerleading! I know you saw it. I pray you were rejoicing as I was. Jewell Grace looks just like you. When I miss my best friend...I hold her tight as I can and swear I can feel you. Thank you for the visits in my dreams. If you can, I need you tonight. Thank you for that personal word to God that you gave that day I was so desperate at graveside 2 years ago when I was begging for some type of peace. I am do another if you can spare the time. I pray we meet soon. I love you. brande

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 4th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I have met your mother at a Cops function and she and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today.
Rest In Peace.

Well it has been 4 years and it still seems just like yesterday. I miss you and think of you often. Brande is doing such a good job raising the girls and I know you would be very proud of her. Jewel Grace is looking more and more like you everyday. She also has your personality. Haven is more Brande. But you definitely left your mark in both of them. We all miss you and every chance I get I tell the girls all about you. I can't wait until they are older and I can tell them some real good stories. Please continue to look after us. One of mine and Brande's friends and classmate is being buried today. PLease welcome Stacey in Heaven. I miss you and love you bunchces!!

Man, long time coming. So funny, you and that sub sandwich, all ready to eat with all the trimmings, then you checked your blood sugar; like you wern't going to eat it anyway; the damn thing was paid for and you had it unwrapped infront of you. Things are getting better but it still sinks in every 24th. Your Pops is still cool and makes eveyone laugh. See you next time.
