Today is National Law Enforcement Memorial Day and on this day I salute you for your bravery and dedication to law enforcement. Your Mom gave a speach last week at the Cook County Memorial service, what a great job she did. You have not been forgotten nor will that ever be the case. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones.

You are why I'm working on this 1st IL COPS Run to Remember - It's not that I'm a gifted runner - who knows that better than you - participating in and now planning these races are so good for me - I feel your presents as run (barely) the course - as alway, you are there helping me go forward!!
Austin is running with me this race to honor YOU - it is strange how his personality has become more like your's with the passing of time - you better watch your sister - she's going to need your help!
Missing more today than yesterday - you are truly forever in my heart.

Hey Pat! Just saw the note from your mom. I can't wait to be a part of the big event! When your dad called and asked me to volunteer I couldn't say no. Of course there will be no running for me. Not 5K anyway. :) Just running around helping do whatever I can to make this 1st annual Run to Remember a success!

Love and miss you.

Hundreds gathered this weekend to honor the fallen, especially you. We celebrated your life in true Barnard-style with lots of food and drink and story-telling. You were definitely missed by all who knew you.

Miss you more today than I thought possible. There are all these trigger - a song, Austin playing basketball, Stacey coming to find me in a store because of a song playing that reminds her of you, being somewhere you should be - some make me smile - must make me cry. I'm trying so very hard to go on but my life will never be the same without you.
Forever in my heart,

Mom

Pat,

I woke with you on my mind this morning. I went to have breakfest and noticed a beautiful and VERY Red Cardinal on my porch. It just sat there while I ate. I had so many memories on my mind. How you loved the rain, snow made you smile like a "school girl". (your words not mine) :) and how a fall day was a reminder of HOME. I thought about how you could make something funny when it's NOT ok to laugh like at church... I still believe that you were placed here to teach us all how to love life and eachother.
Miss you and I hope I get the ticket to the other side to see you again. God Bless,
Christina
