Reflections for Police Officer Molly Suzanne Thomas-Bowden
Molly,
You were a true and dear friend. Although our lives took us to seperate places, you were always in my heart. We had many laughs together throughout the police academy and after when I would make my visits to Columbia and you would take me out and show me the town. I thought about you everyday and will continue to do so as long as I walk this earth. God bless your family and may he watch over them. I hope to see you again someday my newest gaurdian angel.

The men and women of the Cameron Police Department share in your grief. May God be with your family (personal and professional) during this difficult time. Until we meet again.....
May this bring comfort to your family in the days to come.
Policeman's 23rd Psalm
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind.
He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans I'm a "minister of God,"
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name's sake He keeps me whole.
When I walk through death's valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.
He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life's enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, "Well done...,"
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.

Ride Along
So you don’t like the ticket I just gave you.
Well, come take a ride with me.
A trip to the scene of an accident.
Where a person now struggles for freedom, and for life.
All because someone was in a hurry, or late for work.
You say you didn’t call me and you don’t need my help.
That this is a family matter and none of my business.
Come take a ride with me.
Where a child now cowers in the nearest corner, or bedroom closet.
They cover their ears and ask god “ please make them stop”.
Still think no one needs my help.
You’ve said all we do is eat donuts and drink coffee.
Come take a ride with me.
On the countless days after taking four calls in an hour.
We think we have time to sit down for dinner.
Only to be call away again.
You think we’re cold and have no heart.
Well, come take a ride with me.
To a place where the pipes now lay to rest.
A brother or sister who gave their life, for someone like you.
A place where tears fall like rain for their family,
For our family, and yes even for you.
Yeah, come take a ride with me.

A PIECE OF AMERICA DIED
Somebody killed a police officer today
and a piece of America died
a piece of our country she swore to protect
will be buried with her...at her side
The suspect who shot her will stand up in court
with counsel demanding his rights
while a young widowed father must work for his kids
and spend many long, lonely nights
The beat that she walked was a battlefield too
just as if she had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half staff
to her name they will add a gold star
Yes, somebody killed a police officer today
It happened in your town or mine
While we slept in comfort, behind our locked doors
a cop laid her life on the line
Now her ghost walks the beat on a dark city street
and she stands at each new rookie's side
She answers the call, and gave us her all
and a piece of America died
