To Molly, her family, her co-wokers, and all who morn her passing:
My husband has nothing but good words for Molly. Even when we were just dating he would tell me stories about their days in the police acadamy together, and how she was one of the greatest officers he has ever known. I know it's different to hear this from someone outside of the police profession, but know that I pray for you Molly and I know my husband does too because I can't describe the pain he is going through due to your passing. You were a dear friend to him and so to me you are now a dear angel to him. Please watch over him and keep him safe, as I pray every time he puts on his badge and uniform that he will be coming safely home to me.
Thank you. ~Anna-Marie Gruhlke

Molly,

I had worked with you several times over the past years. You were always so beautiful and kind. I will miss you and always keep you in the front of my mind. I spent most of the day in the hospital on 01-11-05, guarding Evans. As I sat there I could only think about you and your sacrifice. I prayed all I could for you and your family. My thoughts are with your family and your fellow officers who must continue to protect and serve after you are gone. Your story will carry on and your name will never die.

Molly,

You worked for us for 13 months before moving to CPD. When you left we felt a sense of loss because we didn't get to see you everyday. You were always so warm, friendly and happy. No matter how we felt or what was going on you lightened the mood and made us all feel better. We tried to talk you into staying and how I wish we were successful...

I am eternally grateful for having been given the opportunity to know you for the past 4 years. You have changed all our lives for the better. I know that someday we will meet again. God bless you and your family. We will never forget you.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, February 14, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Molly Suzanne Bowden who died in the line of duty just four days ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Bowden's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our hearts are broken and sad. However we know that Molly knew the Lord and is with him.

Remember what Deuteronomy 6 says :

" Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

We will never forget!

"Angels In Blue"
I had this friend you see, who loved
God, Country, You and me.
My friend went to work day or night
the peace to keep, so you and I could sleep. She worked the holidays and weekends, away from family and friends.
To keep this peace for you and me.
Each day this friend put her life on the line to spare yours and mine.
Then one day she paid the price, she gave her life. You've done well my friend, patrolling these earthly streets. Now it's time to walk on Heaven's beat. The next time you see a Police Officer or two, remember they are one of God's Angels in Blue. And God said;
"Blessed are the Peace Makers."

My Dearest Molly,

All the great times I had the opportunity to work with you and I all the fond memories I will hold in my heart. I still remember you bounding through the door to communications to pick up the simplest of paperwork...ponytail in tow and smile from ear to ear or even our craziest and silliest conversations on the phone...You will never be forgotten, 295.

God Bless You, Molly. God Bless Your Families.

Officer Bowden, Sons, and Parents: I just wanted you to know that we have felt the pain of losing Molly. I pray that strength will come to you, and that peace will come, when it seems peace is not possible. I want to thank Molly for the sacrifice that she has given, and I pray that her smile is even more beautiful in heaven. We know that you have lost a great treasure, but also know that your community members are praying for you at this time! Molly, rest in peace, and know that we are praying for your brothers and sisters in the Columbia Police department!
