To the family and friends of Officer Molly Bowden and to the Columbia Police Department: I wanted to extend my deepest and sincerest condolences for the loss of your beautiful Molly when she was so brutally murdered. There are some wounds that time does not heal, and Molly's grievous loss is such a wound. So many lives forever changed by a senseless act. My entire family, including our law enforcement family of the Pittsburg Police Department, shares your agony. I will keep Molly and all of you in my prayers. May the circle of love of your law enforcment family continue to embrace you and comfort you. This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for Molly's valor and her service to her community in Columbia and for the supreme sacrifice that she and her family made when your magnificant Molly gave all. To Officer Molly Bowden: I spent this morning looking at the many pages of reflections sent to honor your memory. Although only 26-years-old when you were so brutally and cowardly murdered, you touched the lives of many people with your service to the community, your passion for life, and your love of family. You fought your heart out to live in that month long battle. You are a true warrior.. a true heroine. You will never be forgotten and will always be loved. Though each lost life given in the line of duty is so precious, there are some who touch a special part of my soul and heart. You are one of those...my son also lost his life this year when shot twice, the fatal injury being the one to his neck.
Molly, as I write this I am looking at the photograph of your beautiful face with that glorious smile. Yesterday I heard a quote that we all have music in our souls, and when we leave this life we should leave it having played our music. Molly, you played your music loud and clear and your song is still being heard. May you continue to inspire your brothers and sisters in law enforcement, but especially your sisters, as your death was a reminder of both professional and family responsibilities and sacrifices. Watch over all them as they start each shift.

Molly,
i couldnt believe it when i heard the news flash, my heart skipped a beat you were the most beautifull person ive ever met, inside and out. your an angel up above now, as you were here on earth ill love you for life.
I take comfort in knowing that if you touched everyone's heart you met, even a tenth of the way you touched mine then the world is a little better and safer.

My husband and I, both patrol officers with ORPD, were sitting in the living room watching COPS tonight, when I saw this news.
I could not finish reading the details without sobbing. I cannot imagine the pain and loss that Molly's husband must feeling.
Our prayers are with Molly's family and department. I realize there are no words for things like this, just please know that Molly's story will be passed on to all our brothers and sisters in Anderson County, Tn.
Be safe. Survive. God Bless.
Respectfully,
Officers Candace and Josh West
