I was in the academy when Deputy Koester came to the LCSO. He seemed to be the proudest person to wear the Lake County Badge. He just transfered from my hometown and still loved its people. He is and will forever be part of a brotherhood I have come to love.To his family I leave Psalm 34:18.To the rest of us may we never forget freedom is never free.

Brother, you leave a legacy that will not be soon forgotten! The passing of this life is only your first step behind the blue line. You can now watch over us and keep up in line and when our day comes you will be the first to grab my hand an pull me through! We are here as a family! Stay well and safe, work with St. Michael to be the protectors of the police!

Dear Friends, Finding this sight has been a blessing. As for Wayne's Family and people who will miss him, I want to thank each one for your prayers and thoughts. Wayne was in law enforcement over 10 years at two agencies and loved every day he served the community. We look a lot alike so every time I look in the mirror I see my Brother. Every day will be a challenge to give his family time to cope and understand that Police Officers are chosen from birth, this has to be because of the willingness to give your life for others with no thought of your own life. Wayne, we miss you and say Hi to Grand Pa. We Love You and Miss You.

Thanks to the Lake County Sheriff's office and all that are helping us get through this difficult time. God Speed and may he keep all Peace Officers safe. Victor S. Koester And Family
