Reflections for Police Officer James Mitchell Prince

My prayers go out to you and your family Officer Mitchell. It is haunting to me to see another NC officer lost in the line of duty. May you have eternal peace knowing that you served your community and may your family find peace in knowing the same.

To Officer Prince: Go in peace Brother! You served your duty well. Your service and "ultimate sacrifice" will never be forgotten.
To his family, friends and L.E. Brothers: Nothing can be said or done to ease your pain. Just know that he gave everything trying to protect the people of this state and country, out of love.
My deepest condolences.

I hate seeing that another officer in NC has passed. Roy Turner Jr was shot and killed in Nov 2001 in Fayetteville and it is still hard to hear of another officer down.
I am so sorry to his wife and children. I pray for you and all of the police officers and their families.
Roy loved doing what he did. I am sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you.

I can remember the day you were killed. I live in Wilmington, NC and I can truly say that the surrounding communities, including, of Wilmington, NC and Boiling Springs Lakes, NC were deeply affected. Incidents of an officer death rarely occurs in the area. When it unfortunately does, people mourn and celebrate the life of a human being who decides to protect and serve the public. For that, you will always be remembered by me and by others. May you rest in peace!

God Bless you.

My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the loved ones that survive Officer Prince. I knew Mitch back in high school and was not surprised to learn that he had chosen law enforcement as a means to protect and serve--he was just a great guy.

Mitch, you will be missed.

Today I ask for the prayers of all of us in the law enforcement community to go out to the family of Officer Prince, and all others in our chosen profession, whos sense of safety and security has been threatened by such an unbelievable act of evil. I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalms 23, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil...for you are with me." This is a day when all in Law Enforcement unite in our resolve for justice and peace. We have stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day...yet we go forward to defend freedom and our way of life in a lawful society, and all that is good and just in our country. May God Bless all the families of fallen Law Enforcement Officers, and may God continue to bless all of us who continue to serve as His Peace Makers.

THANKS MITCH

I heard about Mitch's death a few weeks ago, and wanted to post this for the family and friends. I'm very sorry that someone can be so careless for authority and man-kind enough to do such an act, but justice will be served and we will all see him again in a better place above! God Bless-

If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go, Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always, Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own, And in time when men decide and feel safe to call the streets insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind. You will not be forgotten..We will see you in Elysium...

MITCH, JUST KNOW YOU MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. IT TAKES A SPECIAL KIND OF PERSON TO PROTECT AND SERVE AND YOU WERE NO DOUBT ONE OF THOSE SPECIAL PEOPLE. YOUR FAMILY AND CO WORKERS ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, THEIR SACRIFICE WAS JUST AS GREAT AS YOURS, IF NOT GREATER BECAUSE THEY NOW MUST GO ON WITHOUT YOU.

REMEMBER TO LOOK DOWN ON ALL US WHO ARE SOME WAY AFFILIATED WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND KEEP US ALL SAFE.

ONE NEVER GETS OVER THE LOSS OF A DEAR FRIEND OR LOVED ONE BUT WHEN WE REMEMBER THAT THE LORD UP ABOVE NEEDED YOU MORE THAN WE DID IT MAKES IT A LITTLE EASIER TO DEAL WITH. GOD KNEW YOUR TIME HERE WAS OVER AND THAT YOU COULD BE OF MUCH MORE ASSISTANCE WITH HIM.

PLEASE WATCH OVER US.........

GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The heartache I feel at the senseless killing of yet another fine police officer and human being is unexplainable. As so many before, they dedicated their lives to serve and protect because they loved doing what they did. James you are among the finest in heaven. To be taken from your families, friends, co-workers so suddenly is just awful - the ache seems unbearable for them - May God give all who know and love you strength and comfort down this road they now have to travel, watch over them James. Love from a "mom" whose son was killed in the line of duty in 1998.

To Officer Prince's wife: There is no logic as to why some people do evil things, just know Officer Prince will always be remembered as a Hero, and his children will carry his memory in their hearts. I hope this poem helps ease the pain I know you are feeling...

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight of ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the moning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet
birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand a my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

Thank you, Officer Prince, tell Billy we miss him.
