Thinking of you during this holiday time, Bryan. I know it is hard for your family. Your sacrifice has never been forgotten. Say hello to my Mom and Dad up there in heaven.

Brian - I took my son to watch Act of Valor recently at a theatre not to far from bank. He is 8 years old now and not much older than your baby. I've never really talked to him about what happened to us back on that horrible day becuase I've never known how you tell a child how important a man like you is to a world like this or why you had to do what you did. I made it through most of the movie and I got to the end where I just sat there and cried for a good twenty minutes holding my little boy and telling him what kind of man you were and how you saved his daddy just like the men in the film who were portraying you saved all those people. After that I took him to where you perfomed your final act of bravery and told him how a real hero llived and how important it is to live a life worth something and how he has someone to live up to in this life just like you. Rest in peace friend and I look forward to the day I can thank you face to face after this world fades.

On this day, seven years ago, Bryan lost his life defending mine and several others. I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am to Bryan or how sorrowful I am that he lost his life defending us. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about it and wish that things could have been different.
While I am forever changed by this I will always remember Bryan and all the officers who put their lives on the line every day, even when the risk is not apparent, to defend us.
Thank you Bryan – I will always be grateful!

Bryan,
Not a day passes that I do not think of you, especially during Ohio State football season. I recently came across the picture we had taken in our OSU shirts together....you, me, Malia, and some friends. My forensic nursing was a small tribute to you. Continue to watch over all of us, and know that you are always close to my heart.

With love,
Sherri

I think of you often as I ride my bicycle past the 5/3rd Bank on Broad. I pray for your widow and your little girl as I know its hard for them down here, with your sacrifice. I also pray for the other folks affected by your death. The police in particular because I think they have a really, really hard job everyday. Thank you sir for doing your job and keeping the bad guys away. I know its not easy at all, but a job that has to be done. I appreciate your time in the Corp also, as my son did the same thing in the Army in Afghanistan, and I did a long time ago in the Navy.
Thank You Sir for your gift of life.

I sit here today remembering being at your funeral. It was so touching and you could feel the love and the respect for you from everywhere. I remember reflecting on my own life and thinking how short life can be and how quickly life can be taken from any one of us. I did not know you personally. Just a familiar name to me. However, I feel that I was able to get to know you through all those that clearly loved and respected you so much. You made me take pause and to aspire to be a better person by just being you. You have left such a tremendous mark on my heart. And today, like many days since you left us, I take pause and remember you. I thank you for inspiring me to be a better person and a better officer by your example. You showed the strength and courage we all hope to have within us if faced with a critical incident and I am proud to call you my brother in blue! Rest in Peace Bryan, your memory is in my heart, always!
