Griff was my Aunt Mary Jane (Cantero) Calhoun Lawson's maternal grandfather. Griff's two oldest children were from his 1st marriage to Josie (who passed away in 1920). His daughter Nellie Jane Anderson married Delbert K. Cantero and they had my Aunt Mary Jane. Now she is more than just an "aunt" to me, she is my Moma. She raised me from the time I was 18 months old along with her own 3 children. She was married to one of my Daddy's brothers and when my Daddy died 1 year after my birth, she and my uncle stepped up and provided a safe, loving home for me and my sister. I guess maybe she inherited her kind heart and "hero" type of personality from her Grandpa Griff Anderson.
