Another anniversary, Peter...so many times you have been missed. 5 short years ago tonight you were taken from us who loved you and respected your example of a father, husband, soldier, police officer, and friend. No one fills those empty shoes of yours, but I like to think that everyone who has known you, whether for a short time or a lifetime, has taken something away from that relationship that helps them in their own continued struggle through this thing we call "life". I hope there's a better place, because I know if there is you have certainly earned a place there. Your friends and family will never forget who you were, and what you stood for. This world could use a few more like you, old friend. God Bless...

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace

Ofc Lavery,

Just got back from Washington DC last night. The other day, my family and I visited the Law Enforcement memorial. It was really cool to be there, and to view the memorial. In 2013, they are making a Police Officer museum across the street where visitors can learn about officers such as you. Newington misses you a lot. Things sure have changed since you left us, but you are never forgotten. RIP Ofc Lavery, and keep an eye out on all the future Police officers such as myself. God Bless.

Greetings, Peter...Just sitting in my little office at home, and thought of you (again). So much has happened in so few years. Years...has it actually been almost five YEARS since you left? We all went to D.C. again in May; trip #5. I missed you just as much as trip #1. The new names on the wall keep adding on and on. You are apparently in very good company. They keep trying to get your hostage gnome to put in the NLEOM museum, but we defend him valiently, remembering all you went through to get him back. This world is a bleaker place without you in it, brother, but your memory lives on through all of us who love you. Thank you again for all you have done, and God rest you...

On the 4th anniversary of Master Police Officer's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Master Police Officer is not forgotten.

Hi Dad,

As you know, I got married about 2 months ago. It was a wonderful day. I wish you could have been there. It wasn't the same without you. Uncle Jim walked me down the aisle. We had a cigar bar outside on the deck. It was like you were there! I love you so much and miss you with all of my heart!

Ofc Lavery,
I remember the night as if it was yesterday. You were a brave person whose life was taken a few years ago. When I become a Police Officer, I am going to dedicate my career in your memory, and hope to work at the Newington Police Department. Say hello to Ofc. McDermott for me and tell her that Newington High misses her a lot. God Bless you and your family.

Peter,

It's time for a note, just to let people who might read this to see what a special man you were by sharing a memory of you. I say that because you already know what's going on with all of us, so this is for those who read this and might benefit a little from knowing what kind of person you were and how you always set a great example of how to be a true patriot and friend to all you met. Anyway, I'm home safe from another deployment, and on my way back home I came back through Ramstein Germany. Once off the plane, I looked out at the tarmac area and laughed out loud, so the guys on my team asked me what was so funny. So I started to tell them about the last time I was in Ramstein Germany. That was the time you and I along with several other members of our staff were heading to Bosnia on a recon mission. Our C130 had multiple problems and on the 3rd attempt at takeoff, our plane burst into flame. I'll never forget as, once we all jumped out safely, we stood there together on the grass watching our plane burn. You calmly put a cigar in your mouth and in your typical understated manner said, "I guess we're not getting to Bosnia today". I still laugh out loud when I think of it. You sum up the a chaotic situation perfectly in a few calm words. I could just picture you standing out there on that grass again like it was yesterday. As usual you turned a bad situation into something good by having everyone go to the officers for dinner and drinks and an evening of comaraderie.

We all miss you and think of you often Peter. We did a motorcycle ride to D.C on Memorial Day and you came up in conversation several times as we all had a good laugh about some of the adventures that we all had together on the road, and in the military. Thanks as always for bugging me to ride again, and for the memorable times we had.

Hey Bro,

Your little one is getting married tomorrow. I am sure you will have full view but that is not the same. We will not be attending ourselves. Wish we could but that is a different story. Enjoy the view.

Hi Pete,

Just wanted to say hello and to let you know that you have a new baby cousin. Erika Paige Lavery was born on 3-27-08 at 7:05AM. Of course, Im sure you knew that because I had a feeling that you were there. I know that Grandma & Grandpa were there watching and smiling over their new great-granddaughter and wishing so much that they could hold her, as did I. Nate & Jameson love her so much. They cant get enough of her. They ask about you from time to time. Just today Jameson was asking our neighbor, who is an Enfield police officer, if he knew you. He had his new Harley Davidson in the driveway Pete and he immediately thought of you. You'd be proud! HE LOVED IT!! I told him he has a WAYS to go before I see him ride one.(haha)
Please look out for Erika, Nate & Jameson. They are my life and I love them all so very much. Give Grandma & Grandpa a hug for me & tell them thank you for being there when Erika was born. It meant the world to me.

Take care

Till we all meet again...

Tim
