Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Brad Lee Schultz, Jr.

You are a true hero and an inspiration to all who serve in law enforcement. You did your job and clearly went above and beyond the call of duty in order to assist a fellow officer. You will forever be remembered for your courage, integrity and sacrifice. Rest in peace brother and look over all of us while we work the streets. God Bless you, your family and your fellow officers! We love you!

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

Rest In Peace Brother, we have the watch from here.

To the family, friends and co-workers my prayers are with you. There isn't much anyone can say at this time that will help. Just know that we are all praying for you. The only thing that helped me was knowing that Clint loved being a police officer, and I bet Brad loved it also. Any time you were around Clint that would be all he would want to talk about, and to watch the sparkle in his eyes as he would get so excited telling you about it.

Officer Schultz your family will miss you everyday, but we will never forget you. Thank you for making the streets a safer place for us live. Look Clint up for me tell him we miss him...

As I was reading this web page there were 147 deaths.

As I was leaving the web page I noticed that there were now 148.

It is a sad day for law enforcement.

No one will fill your shoes Brad.

I just hope many will continue to carry the torch and fight on every day, bearing each others burdens in this family.

To the family and family to be, my prayers are with you always.

Gods speed Brad.
