I cannot believe it's been 19 years. I think about you often, and wonder how your babies are doing. They're widening Gender Rd, but so far your memorial plaque is still up on the utility pole and there's been an even bigger memorial sign placed across the street. I pray your family is well. RIP.

I have no idea how time has gone by so quickly. My mom and I miss you so much. My siblings were around the same age as your babies Melissa. We were always at your house. My mom loves you and still mentions you often. I wish justice would have been served. I wish you could still be here. I wish I could hug you. I bet you are the most beautiful angel.

Officer Melissa came to my rental on Bairsford Drive when my husband and I came home from the hospital with our newborn baby to discover that our place was ransacked while we were away in the hospital. It was November 29, 2004 I believe. I’ll just never forget her. She was so kind and caring and BRAVE! She really helped us feel better the way she was talking to us, also giving my husband lots of advice. I think of her and her children from time to time over the years. I was so heart broken when she passed away. I believe she’s in Heaven. I wish her family peace and happiness. Your mother is unforgettable by so many, she touched a lot of peoples hearts.

Melissa,
I think of you often and will never forget your kindness. I want you to know that my son is writing a letter to his Ohio representative to vote to increase the penalties for people who choose to drink and drive and commit vehicular homicides. Keep looking out for us down here!!!

Hey Melissa-I was just thinking how your kids must be adults now as I donated to the virtual candle thing for NLEOMF tonight. You’re thought of and remembered more than you know. There’s all kind of new apartments down Gender Rd. I still hate driving on that road, but I can’t let weeds surround that phone pole :/ I hope you’re having a good time in heaven, it’s an S show down here.

15 years ago tonight you started your shift working 7pm marking in service to serve the citizens of Columbus working Zone 2 Evening Midwatch... You never got the chance to finish your shift and were taken from us by a drunk driver who unfortunately made a horrible choice getting behind the wheel.. I responded out to the scene that evening as a member of the Officer Support Team and remember that cold night like it was yesterday.. You are missed by so many and not forgotten Melissa! God Bless your family! #2145 forever-
