That's what I've been telling myself lately. The past 4 weeks have been tough but I've managed to get by one day at a time. I know that you're helping to watch my little angel up there, which has been my only comfort down here, so in the words of a game that Matthew & I play, "thank you a million red m&ms." I have hope that one day, when the timing is more right, my little angel will be guided back to me.

"Monk" was on last night. Immediately you came to mind, of course, especially of that time I was home sick and you called to check up on me and we so happen to be watching the same re-run episode that we both had seen together just a couple weeks prior. I even remembered you saying, "Great minds think alike.” I really miss you! Sometimes, I'll just be sitting around quietly thinking to myself when all of a sudden a memory of you will appear in my thoughts. Oddly enough, I'll even begin to feel like I can call you to tell you all about it as if you’re still here because it certainly feels like you are. I even get goose bumps when I realize that you aren't.

They say that dreams & sudden flashbacks of those who've passed are ways of them reconnecting & visiting; I like to think & believe there's truth in that.

2 years I can't believe it! I miss you so much...meeting up for dinner & drinks, calling just to say hello, or bumping into each other whether it be in a grocery store or even waiting for a green light at an intersection. What I miss the most are your great big bear hugs, hearing you laugh, and being able to count on you when I need advise or your friendship. I can still hear you laugh when I go through pictures, especially those of our dancing days.

Phillip

Well, its been two years since I got that horrible phone call from my dad saying that someone in the Secret Service was killed in Tampa and that they worked for the FMPD. "I think it was Phillip" I remember him saying, and I said "no way, you heard wrong, it can't be him”. When it finally sank in, my heart broke into millions of pieces. Of course the first thing I did was call your mom, talked to your aunt, and from that moment on, life has been forever changed. You know no matter how long we would go without speaking, after all, we both have very busy lives, when we did speak again, it was like no time had passed. I can't believe it has been two years today. I hope your family and all of your friends have found a little peace, but I know they will never completely heal. We all miss you and please know, we feel you every moment of every day looking over all of us and protecting us. Take care up there till we meet again. I am extremely honored to have called you my friend.

As the two year anniversary approaches, it is so obvious by all the wonderful reflections that you are still missed and loved like it just happened yesterday.
