I had the pleasure of working with Bob for about 9 years with the Daytona Beach Police Dept. Bob was the most professional and personable man I have ever met. He was
a proud father and good man....I always respected Bob and looked at him as a mentor when I was a young rookie back in the early 90's.
I will always remember him as "MARY 11" when he was on motors....Boy, he sure could ride that bike...
I will never forget you my friend...I know you are in heaven looking down on your loved ones especially Bobby JR. and that new grandbaby.
Bobby Jr....This is Johnny Robbins and I am very sorry for your loss...
Follow in your Daddy's footsteps and you will do great things in life.
Good luck to you and "BE SAFE"...(congrats on the baby)

Bob, I will miss the silly emails I would send to you busting your chops about not pressing hard enough on your reports. You would always send the emails back with huge letters saying "HOW'S THIS". You always had a smile on your face and it seemed nothing would bother you. You inspired all who knew you. I will miss you and your smile. Rest easy brother we have it from here.

As Nov. 13 came again this year, it was again a terrible birthday for me. If last year wasn't bad enough to see how thoughtfully you had already prepared my birthday cake and had it downstairs in the refrig. as you did for all of us faithfully. This year, Bobby did you proud and made my cake for me. It said happy birthday mommy for Abigail's sake. Although, she sang happy birthday to me and to herself. You can only imagine how empty This week has been without you here for Thanksgiving. But, the turkey was big, and Bobby baked your cheesecake and pumpkin chiffon pies. We are still looking for the coconut creme pie recipe, hidden away in one of your strange places. We miss you so much, and Abigail is realizing now that something bad happened to you, that a car hit you and made you bleed she says. She has heard us talking, and we are trying to teach her about not going into the street or a car can hurt her. Please continue to watch over us, help us with our pursuits to get all the facts straight regarding your accident (lead us in the right directions and send those to us that can help) All we want is the truth for you. You were truly the glue and the laughter for us all. Watch over Bobby at work, and give him strength to endure what he is facing.

All our love to you from our hearts. You are with us always.

To the family and friends of Officer Bov Grim Sr., his fellow officers, and most especially to Officer Grim:

On this the first anniversary of your tragic death, please know that you are not forgotten. Your valor and dedication are still remembered and your memory honored. Rest in Peace, Officer Grim.

The many reflections left for you evidence that you were a man who was loved by many and a man who was well-respected by his peers. It is obvious from reading them that you touched many people's lives in a positive way. Not only did you leave a legacy of a son following you into law enforcement, you mentored many other officers.

May your family continue to be comforted by their law enforcement family, and other police survivors.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the thirty six years of service Officer Grim gave to his community, and the citizens of Florida, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 12, 2004.

One year has passed since you were called away and I know your family and friends still grieve and will for a long time. There are no words of wisdom I can offer them except to keep your memory alive and from what I have read in your reflections, that is being done. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten.

Hi Tiffany,
I think about you and your family all the time. The reflections left on this site are amazing. Your dad touched so many people during his lifetime. I always remember how intimidated I was by him when we were growing up. But everytime I remember him I see him smiling. I know he would be proud of you. I know that times are still hard and they will be for a very long time. The sadness never goes completly away. You, Linda, Jason and Bobby and the rest of your family are in my prayers and thoughts. Know that I am here for you if you ever need anything. Love, Kim

Today, 11 October 2005, Ormond Beach Police Officer Bob Grim was honored and remembered fondly by family and friends as a 1.5 mile stretch of Nova Road in Ormond Beach was officially renamed the "ROBERT F. GRIM SR. MEMORIAL PARKWAY".

This is a nice and fitting tribute to this fine gentleman and law enforcement officer who gave so much of himself to others through out his 36 year career in law enforcement. Bob left an indelible mark in our memories and hearts that will stay with us for many years.

On 12 November 2004 "A part of America died . . ."

Although known by my father for a very long time, I had very little contact with Officer Grim but for one key moment that will leave him in my mind. He sang at the F.O.P one night during a time when things were rough for me. As I was leaving he followed outside and placed a hand on my shoulder. Four simple words he said. "Keep your chin up," and he meant it.
Support from a man of character was something much needed and character he did have.

You left a big hole in our lives and hearts. I promise that you will never be forgotten, and your sacrifice will not be in vain. You are in our thoughts every minute, your precious princess Abigail has just learned to say that poppy went to heaven; although she does not understand what that means. It helps me to keep from crying every time she asks for you. I cover her eyes and tell her she can see you and you are in her heart. And a little smile comes on her face as she repeats, "Poppy loves Abigail". It is more evident everyday, that you did not realize what a very special person you were. Your dedication to your work and "the people" is overwhelming. Thank you for the incredible legacy you left for your family. We will continue to honor you. A true "Hometown Heroe". Thank you for our special times and talks. You cannot begin to imagine how much your son is missing you too. His heart is so very heavy everyday he goes to work. His world is not the same without you. Keep watch over us all. You are our Guardian Angel! Thank you for the dreams, and the visits. xoxo

My condolences to the family of Officer Bob Grim. It is so obvious from reading the reflections that Officer Grim will be dearly missed. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a friend. I cannot begin to comprehend the sadness and the loss that his family has endured...and I thank them, and all other families who have lost an officer/fireman/solier while doing their job.

Rest in Peace, Sir. And God Bless Your Family.

Bob was one of my sergeants when I first joined the department in the early 80's. I will always remember his professionalism. He was the kind of officer that we, as young recruits, strived to be. I haven't seen Bob since before I left for law school in 1995. I only learned of his passing today. I truly mourn his passing.

My condolences to the Grim family. Bob was a special person. We were in Officer Cadidate School at Ft Benning, GA in 1965 and he was part of a quartet and we had them singing for every event that came along. Bob, I know you are singing in heaven with the big choir. God bless.

my deepest sympathy to the family of Bob Grim. I first met Bob in 1994. He did not have much time to talk, but he spent a couple of hours giving me advise and direction. I will never forget him or his devotion to Law Enforcement. He is the type of Police Officer I think we all aspire to be.
