Reflections for Reserve Sergeant James Milton Johnson

Hey Daddy! I wasn't where I could get to a computer last Saturday to wish you happy birthday, but I thought about you all day. Are there birthday celebrations in heaven? If so, I hope you're planning something special for Josh next month. He was so excited about turning 13! We'll have a celebration for him here, but I know the one in heaven will be so much better! When I go to your grave now, there are two more right there, and I just ask the Lord to tell you, Matt, Josh and Uncle Bill I love and miss you each day, with every breath. I know you are so happy to have your grandsons there with you, and there's no doubt how happy they are to see you again. I look forward to the day when my work here is done and I can be with you all again, too.

Loving you and missing you and my boys, never more homesick than now~

Lori and family

I am saddened beyond words that your family is suffering the grievous loss of your cherished sons, Matt and Joshua. When I spoke to you earlier this week, I told you that you were in my heart's embrace and I was trying to hold you up from miles away. I am honored that you reached out to me, and I will be here for you anytime you need me. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you.

Your friend for always

My heart is breaking for your family. I remember reading your reflections upon your death in 2004 just a couple months after our precious Matthew left this earth. When I read about your precious sons/grandsons I was stunned beyond words. There are no words......Please accept our deepest, deepest sympathies for this horrendous loss.

My prayers are with the family during this hard time. It's hard to understand how so many tragic things can happen to one family but God knows and using his support they will get through this. I pray they know the boys are now with Grandpa and having a ball. God bless each one of you and give you strength.

Pearl,
I just heard about your grandsons. You have had so many tragic things happen in your family - I'm so sorry for each of you. I only got to see you twice but have thought about you often since then and especially now. I know you have your faith which has helped you through the past years and know that you will certainly have to lean on that and prayers of all of us around you to help you go on. Words aren't enough but know that if I was near you, I would sit with you in quietness just so you wouldn't have to be alone. Peace be with you....

Words escape me but memories will always remain. Matt and Josh will always be with my family. We have so many memories and I turn to them for temporary comfort. I will miss them more than I can express and we will be there for the family in any way we can.

None of this makes any sense. First my friend James, now my friends Matt and Josh. Our hearts ache and we will push forward knowing heaven is definitely a better place today with the addition of these two caring, gentle souls. God, please take care of them......

Lori and all of the Johnson-Rowley families;

It is so heartbreaking to know you have had so much tragedy in this lifetime. I know there are many strangers like myself who will continue to pray for you and for their souls. It is all we can do, but know you have a very special family of law enforcement officers there for you no matter where you travel, or whatever your needs might be, they are there not just now but in the future.

I also know those who have departed are in a place of special joy and it is up to us to honor their sacrifice by living the best life we can in going forward. I do know they are with us always and have made contact with my spouse which left me with much peace.

I do not know you but I give my love and support to you and your husband and families.
