Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Sergeant Johnson for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

To Sgt. Johnson's family & friends,
My heart breaks for you as I know the pain of losing a loved one in the line of duty....and especially right here at the holidays. They will never be the same again but always remember the ones you shared with him. The days ahead will be terribly difficult and I pray that the Lord will wrap his loving arms around you and help you make it through one day at a time. From you'r brothers and sisters in Virginia Beach, VA. our heart felt prayers go out to you (our Hero), you'r family, friends and Co-workers. You are by far a hero of heros dedicated to your job. With the loss of a good friend and co-worker not more than 1 1/2 years ago we feel your pain and sorrow. As a former student of Forsyth Senior High School, it feels like it has hit at home also. You have done your job, and a job well done. Now is your time to go 10-7, I salute you!

I am on military leave with the US Army MP's in Iraq, away from my job as a police officer in Avery County NC. I still regularly check on here to see that hopefully, no more names of brother-sister officers appear on here. Sadly, that not only is not the case, it is the name of another brother NC officer.

This sadly proves the South remains the most dangerous place to be a law enforcement officer.

I am very grieved over this tragic loss, such a fine man, a volunteer officer, dying needlessly at the hands of such a coward. I hope the other officer is ok and that justice is served in this case.

Though our ranks thinned on this date here on earth, the ranks of Heaven's watch grew by one. This fallen hero now walks a beat in Heaven and no longer has to endure the tribulations of this life, but we are hurt by his passing.

My thoughts and prayers go with the family, friends and colleagues of Sgt. Johnson and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the whole jurisdiction in this time of loss.

Be safe out there brothers and sisters. Rest easy brother, you will not be forgotten.
