Amy, you were one of the most dedicated Officers I ever trained. I played the bagpipes at your graduation, and hours ago, I played the bagpipes at your funeral. I wish I could have been there to keep you safe. You were an Operator to the end. God bless.

To Officer Donovan's family, friends, and co-workers. I am an instructor at the Kansas City, Missouri Regional Police Academy. I reguarly check the ODMP, and post information about fallen Officers on a wall in the academy as a constant reminder to all Recruits and Officers. We also have the recruits read aloud the memorial pages in class. On behalf of our staff here at the academy, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all who knew Officer Donovan. Her sacrifice has not gone unnoticed, nor was it in vain.

My prayers, thoughts and condolences go out to your husband, family and children. I tested on the obstacle course with Amy during the application process for APD. Amy left a lasting impression. Although I missed qualifying by three seconds, I was glad to see Amy make it. I saw her determination and spirit.
Amy, thank you for doing your best to protect us and keep Austin safe. You are now in Heaven protecting us and patrolling your new watch. God Speed

Officer Donavan...I write with a heavy heart and tears for I was one of many on the scene of your terrible accident. We all think we can save every patient at times especially when it is one of your own, but we are quickly reminded that God is the ultimate healer. These are the calls we dread the most, but we know God is with us at all times during these times. I never had a chance to meet and talk to you in the streets as we do with most APD officers. I did have the pleasure to meet couple of your fellow cadets in last couple of days in the streets and it was a comfort to hear of you. My prayers are with you, your husband, children and all your friends and family at APD. I also say a special prayer for your partner....May you rest in peace Officer Donavan....I will never forget you.
