Reflections for Police Officer Amy Lynn Donovan
The past 12 years I can honestly say that I have said your name or talked to you everyday. Mostly it's the same question, "What the hell happen Amy, what the hell happen".

As this week comes to a close, it has been heavy on my heart. I buried a childhood friend and today is 10 years since we lost Amy...10 years that truly is along time. And to all my friends that have suffered a lose in your lives, be it a spouse, child, parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle or someone special that has captured your heat...I want you to know that I get you...I get the days you have that are not perfect...I get the fake face you put on at times...I get the song or fragrance in the air that triggers fond memories....I get the times you hear a familiar laugh and have to turn around and look...I get the times you can't sleep...I get the moments that you feel it only happen to you...I get the days where you put everyone's feelings first...I get watching a child grow as you struggle to make their life as complete as possible...... I get when you are sick of people telling you that it will get better...i get you being sick of people telling you to move on....Move on are two words I will never use...to me Move on negates the past...I will Move forward, but I will never forget...Forget the person that made me a better man...a more caring soul...I hope everyone has someone come along in their life that impacts you in such a way......
Through all the heartache of the last ten years...I have still been a very fortunate and blessed man..........Do you get me ?

Mother's Day is tomorrow. Last Mother's Day we had with you I bought you a giant flower in a pot balloon. What I wouldn't give to do that again. The years have gone by and life continues to march on. So many things I never thought I would have to go through with out you. I'm married now. He never gets to know you. That's hard. Almost ten years and sometimes it's hard to believe this is our life now. You would be so proud of Chase...and Dad. I saw a picture of Chase golfing. I immediately though of you. Years ago I took him mini golfing for the first time. He got a hold in one. That must have been you. Over the years I have read the reflections... All of them. Multiple times. I'm grateful for those who still visit. Tens years and OKLEO still keeps you in his thoughts. Keeps your memory alive just like we do. Love and miss you today as I did yesterday and will tomorrow. Wish you were here.

Dear Amy,
It is my pleasure to have had the honor to know you through Terry and Chase. Chase was in the same kindergarten class as my son. They were and still are friends despite their distance now. Thanks Terry! I still remember the first day of kindergarten and seeing your little boy smiling and ready for his big day! You were there! Dad right by his side, of course. From the first day I met them, I could see the love Terry has for you just by his actions. No words needed. Thinking of you tonight as I look through old pictures of Chase and Kade. I made a dvd for Terry on father's day a few years back. Maybe it was you that inspired me to do that. Thanks for being you and know that you are an inspiration!
