ON THE LAND OR THE DEEP,
SAFE IN SLEEP.

LOVE, GOOD NIGHT,
MUST THOU GO,
WHEN THE DAY, AND THE NIGHT NEED THEE SO?
ALL IS WELL. SPEEDETH ALL

FADES THE LIGHT;
AND AFAR
GOETH DAY, AND THE STARS SHINETH BRIGHT,

NIGHT IS ON.

THANKS AND PRAISE,
FOR OUR DAYS,
'NEATH THE SUN, 'NEATH THE STARS, 'NEATH THE SKY,
AS WE GO, THIS WE KNOW,
GOD IS NIGH.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.

It is an object of beauty and strength. And I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of whie cloud - just where the sea and the sky come down to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says: "There, She's gone."

Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to her place of destination.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her; and just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There! She's gone," there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout. "There she comes!"

Dear Deputy Winfield, The above poem has helped us through tough times when our son lost his Deputy partner. Our prayers go out for you and all your loved ones. Thank you for your gift of making our streets a better place to live. Please continue your watch from Heaven's Gate and pray for all of us. We will meet someday. Please know that we love you.

They Got 'em.
The man wanted for the murder of a Marion County Sheriff's deputy has been located and is now in custody, according to Sheriff Tim Bailey. The suspect, male 20 years old, was arrested at just after 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15.
According to Bailey, a 911 call was received at 8:55 p.m. on Friday reporting that the suspect was seen attempting to gain entry to an apartment at the Professional Park Apartments off of Crescent Heights Blvd. in Marion.
Bailey says that around 50 law enforcement officers surrounded the area. As officers searched the area, they located the apartment that Cruz had just entered. Officers heard arguing going on inside the apartment.
At that point, Bailey says officers "kicked the door in" and approximately ten officers made entry into the apartment. A brief fight ensued after which officers arrested the suspect and another man,38 year old, from Marion.
The second male was arrested for obstructing justice and assaulting a police officer.
Following the suspects arrest, he was taken to the Marion County Sheriff's Office where investigators began interviewing him. Investigators were expected to gather evidence at the apartment where he was arrested.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, October 19, in Marion Municipal Court on a charge of aggravated murder in connection with the killing of Deputy Brandy Winfield.
