The Legacy.
When I die, give what is left of me to children.
If you need to cry, cry for your brothers walking beside you.
Put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give to me.
I want to leave you with something....something better than words or sounds, look for me in the people I have known and loved.
And if you cannot live without me, then let me live on......in your eyes, your mind and in your acts of kindness.
You can love me most by letting hands touch hands, and by letting go of children that need to be free.
Love does not die...people do;So when all that is left of me is love..let me be free.
Mrs Haywood.
Words escape my effort to express how deeply saddened I'm by your loss. The ability tp explain the reasons "why" wades us. My prayers is that you find rest in the only person who provides purpose to this journey we call life.
May God bless you, your family, and everyone who knew Trooper Haywood.

Troop,
Your dedication to the public is without question and you are a model of service. Even though you retired from one career, you established another protecting and service. It speaks volumes for what you believe in. I pray that God holds you on high and gives you a beat that does not have any of what you saw here. I pray that your family is comforted by God and that he holds them close when it is needed.
You will never be forgotten by your brothers and sisters in law enforcement. Thank you for showing us what "dedication" truely means.
God Speed Sir !!!

Rest in peace knowing that your job on earth is now concluded. Now you begin your tour in heaven, protecting us all.
I was the apprehending office of the motorcycle you were chasing when you lost your life. I am happy to be able to provide closure to your family, so that they would not have to go throught life not knowing who was responsable for your death.

A day is never more dark and sad then the day you learn a brother officer and friend has made the ulimate sacrifice. Darryl and I served in the NYPD and ran into each other once in a while at a special event or a large detail. After retirement from the NYPD and by chance we attended the Florida certification training course together at Brevard C.C. Criminal Justice Center. Darryl was a gentleman and very good cop. I am proud to have known him and proud to call him my brother. It is times like this that make me realize we should never let life prevent us from being better at staying in touch with friends.
Darryl, you will be missed and you will always be remembered. I was blessed to have known you. There is some comfort to know you have slipped your earthly bonds, touched the face of God and now feel his loving embrace. Your beat is now the Lord's streets and I will miss you my friend, my brother.

As a long time resident of Collier Co., Florida, the FHP Troopers always caught my eye and I regarded the agency as one of the best. Even though I serve in another state, I always smile when I drive through Fla. and see a FHP car. Thank you for your sacrifice and committment to your job.
