I recently found this site and this page. It's amazing about how many people cared about Ron. I can't help thinking about all the cop funerals I've attended and how people talked about how the officer was a great guy and was a good worker. I didn't know alot of those officers and can't speak about their abilities. I can talk about Ron and his abilities. Ron was a tremedous man with a heart of gold. He was a team player and always had a "good" word to say about his co-workers. He was a supervisors dream. Ron was also a great family man. He was constantly talking about his family. He was the guy you wish you daughter had married. God be with you Ron and I'm sure he's already got you organizing some kind of program for the kids.....BT

Ron,

Forever Class 123!
You were Class Sergeant.
We Miss You.

Ron- continue to watch over all of us. Your family, friends and community. You were an amazing role model to everyone who knew you. You made an impressive impact on each and every one of our lives. On this day, September 11th, join hand with all the officers and fire-fighters and continue to watch over everyone. God wanted you up there for a reason, to meet new people and put a smile on each one of their faces. We love you and miss you tremendously Ron!

Sheriff Ives....you - your family - friends & co-workers are in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time....please watch over them & your fellow brothers/sisters in blue....a year ago yesterday you paid the ultimate sacrifice no doubt doing something you loved....reading these reflections, it shows that you were a well respected man....

if you don't mind Sheriff, i have a couple of favors to ask....#1. please watch over everyone in LA, i'm sure as you know, katrina demolished pretty much the whole state....the law enforcement there are having difficult time with looters....some people just want to get food for their families....which i don't think is a crime in these circumstances....#2 one of the cities here in michigan are laying off police & fire fighters (they say that the city is in too much debt & that this is the only way to help fix the city), please watch over (and maybe if you could help) them....REST IN PEACE & WITH EASE BLUE ANGEL!!!!

To the Family, Friends and Co-Workers of Deputy Ives.
Remembering him on this day and the sacrifice he gave.

God bless each one of you and keep you in His care.

I pray that He will continue to sustain you in the coming days and years.

Dear Ron,

It was one year ago today that you left us and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Whenever you stopped by to visit, you would always have a wonderful smile on your face and a sincere compliment (you always were the charmer). How I long for those days of your smiles and hugs.

I miss you a lot.

Karen, Blake, David, Richard, Eileen, your Mom and Dad, your countless friends and all the people you inspired during your life, are in my prayers always - but especially now. They've struggled through a year of firsts with out you. I know they are comforted by our Lord, but miss you everyday. Tomorrow will be a tough day for them. Watch over them. God Bless

The one year anniversary has arrived and I know it will not be an easy day for your family and co workers who were close to you. Keep watch over your family and those still out on patrol. You will never be forgotten and will always be a hero.

Ron was my friend and my partner. He trained me to be a Motor Officer in the city of Rancho Cucamonga and I miss him very much. I think of Ron often. My new partner, Greg Hill, and I have taken over the bicycle rode Ron started and have named it the Ron Ives Bicycle Rodeo. It was a huge success in 2005 because of Ron and we hope it will continue.

We all love you and miss you Ron

Ron,

I was going through a box at home and I found a copy the photo/song tribute from your funeral. I put in the player and watched the photos. It brought back memories but I have so many more memories of you in my head. I miss you Ron. I was down at HQ's the other day, and I passed by your name on the Frank Bland Memorial. I remembered how many people came out that day to see your name added. You would have said, "What, all this for me?"

Yes, Ron. All that. FOR YOU. But I am sure everyone there that day would give anything to have you back. I think of you everyday. You had such a profound effect on me and my life. It really made me think about things and put a lot into perspective. I used to visit this website before your death and even more so since. I miss you. I wish I could go back in time and for one second delay you from entering that intersection. One second. One second is all it would have taken Ron. But I am sure GOD had his reasons to call you home. I know we will see each other again. Until then, I will always remember our last conversation. It was about an hour before you died and you left with a smile. Thanks Ron. I love you and will always miss you.

Ron,

It's memorial day. Most of the country is mourning and remembering our fallen soldiers (as they should be) but I have found myself thinking of you today. I miss you Ron. You were truly a remarkable human being. As the day is winding down, I wonder what your days are like now that you are next to God. I bet they are absolutely tremendous. I wish I could have one more day to hang out with you Ron, but I know that day will come sooner than later. Miss you and Love ya bro.

Ron,

Yesterday marks the 7th month since you left us. As you know, your name was added to the Frank Bland memorial at headquarters. There were a lot of people who showed up. But then again, you were always a popular guy. It was tough seeing your name added. It seems like yesterday that you were with us. As you know, we lost Bill Mansfield on March 30th. I'm sure you two have already hooked up and gone on that long bike ride together. Ron, we all miss you. It's really hard knowing that your not coming back. You were and continue to be a true inspiration. You are always on our minds.

Keep us safe.

I didnt' know you personally, but remember seeing you always in a good mood at traffic court. I heard them call your name in roll call the other friday, and it really hit home for all of us officers in the courtroom. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and your department brother.
