Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Jonathan Edward Walsh

It really doesn't seem like it had been 3 years. I still miss you today as much as I did then. I would have left you this message on the anniversary, but I made it home to visit your grave instead the next day! Hope you're smiling down on everyone! It's amazing how much has changed since you were here!

Has it really been 3 years? It seems like yesterday that I was talking to you at McBrody's. I wish I could have a drink in your honor tonight, but know your always in my thoughts. I miss you.

Miss you more and more each day and today certainly doesn't make it any easier being the third anniversary of you being gone. Steve and I ran into Mike and his fiance over the weekend... being that there's the connection with the three of you guys and the fact that we ran into him this weekend and the timing of it all... very interesting! :) Keep watching over us as I know you have been. We love you and miss you. I also want to send well wishes to your family from us on this difficult day... they too are in our thoughts and prayers.

Walsh,

Today my heart hurts as much as it did in that second I found out you were gone from us. You are missed more than you could ever know by everyone who knew and loved you. Please continue to keep a steady eye on the men and women of the JPD. I know in my heart you are watching and I do find comfort in that. Missing you all the time - Mary

You have been gone 3 years and since you are with
Jesus, I know you have been blissfully happy. I am
reading Heaven by Randy Alcorn and I sure long to be
where you are. I didn't know you in this life, but I'm sure
our paths will cross in the next. Maybe we can go to dinner with Noah and Moses. Can't wait!!

Jon,
3 years already--it doesn't seem that long. You have left such a wonderful legacy with us all. Tonight as we gather I'm sure a more than a few Jon stories will be shared (none too bad!) and they will all remind us of the lasting impression you made on everyone that came in contact with you, and the postive effect you had on us all. It doesn't get any easier accepting that you are gone, but the gift of having you in our lives is irreplaceable.

Hey Jon,

As I watched the Guns and Hoses game yesterday, I saw your parents and thought about how much they must wish they were watching you play out there. You're always in our thoughts. Keep watching over our guys and we'll all see you again someday.

Hey bro... just sitting here and thinking of you and laughing, ya knucklehead... I recently had 2 black eyes and it reminded me of the time you had a "Misunderstanding" with some people at the Castle and had the black eye.... haha Anyway..just wanted to give you a shout...and hopefully a chuckle...your presence will always be strong with us... :)

Mr. Hollywood,

We never met but I have heard many great stories about you. What a great loss we have taken, but at least you're in a better place, watching over those that care for you. I thank you for the inspiration you have given others, as I feel that I know you through them and as such feel inspired too. God Bless.

Happy Birthday Jon! Chris and I were out tonight and had two shot of Sambuka in honor of you. He's always had a hard time around your b-day and the day you passed. we usually talk about old Jon stories and laugh at the many times you would be at work. Happy Birthday, Jon!! Please keep watching over us. It's so lonely without you here. I remember first meeting you and how my life changed. I only knew you for a short time, but it felt like forever in my heart. Who knows what could have been. But because of you, your family and friends have become mine. Everyday I see that Joliet uniform, I think of you and the fun we had. Your silly names for me, meeting you at Quiznos, talking for hours. You had my heart then, and you still have it! Happy B-day.
