I did not know you "Jake," but you were my brother, and I will mourn your passing. I pray that God surrounds your family with His loving hands, and makes your absence on this Earth a touch easier for those you leave behind. I also pray for you, who goes before me to join Heaven's ranks of Defenders, to take his place next to St Michael in the never-ending fight against evil.

Officer Laird's family and friends, I'm so sorry. He was a great service to his country, city, and although I didn't know the man, I'm sure family and friends. I don't think the culprit should have been able to possess weapons. I believe there should be a thorough investigation.

Today, I was talking with two other agents about our current pay scale, in comparison to our civilian couterparts. Basically we were complaining. During the conversation, It was agreed that although none of us were ever going to be independantly wealthy the factor which drives up all was the brotherhood we are apart of. Nowhere other than possibly the Military will any of us who know, find the bond that Police Officers share, we will and do die protecting each other and the public, without much recognition or praise. This incident is a perfect example of "believing in the faith" these Officers went into harm's way and we lost an honorable man in the process. "The day is done, gone the sun". God's Speed.
