Officer Laird,
On today, the 20th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the USMC. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Hi Jake ... Sorry it's been so long since Ive been on here. Just because I haven't doesn't mean I haven't thought about you. Southeast District held a memorial today for you. It was nice to see your mom and dad. Kaylee her husband and little boy were there. There were a few of the officers that worked west with you there too. I can't believe that it's been almost 20 years since you left us. I miss you all the time. I think back of the fun times we had, and then the talks too. Sunday the 18th I'll be down on Dietz St with Southeast middle shift. They go there every year, which I think is very nice. The other shifts go there also. Just know that there are so many people who still remembers you. R. I. P. my friend.

Hey Jake, here it is that time of the year again. Sometimes it is hard to believe that it's been19 years since that horrible night. Then there are times when it just feels like yesterday. I'll be joining Southeast middle shift on Dietz St to honor your memory. I'm so thankful that the supervisors have the officers go there every year. Even if most of them didn't get the chance to know you, it's still nice to see them there. I still miss you ... I think of you everyday. Just know I'll never forget you, I'm so happy that we were friends Jake.

I have been particularly thinking of Officer Laird since Officer Seara Burton was shot in Richmond. Prayers for all who love them both.

Hi Jake, I know it's been awhile since I've been on here. That doesn't mean I've stopped thinking about you. I can't believe it's been 18 years since you left us. I'll never forget that horrible phone call I received at 2:23 am saying you were gone. I miss our fun conversations, and the goofy things we said on the radio ... like Street Sweeper. I'll never stop missing you ... you were one of a kind. R. I. P. My friend

Hey bud it's me again. Today I will visit you by your plaque on Diets St, I go there every now and then just to pay my respects. You were a terrific friend, we had some great conversations. I knew if I ask your opinion, that you would give it to me straight ... cause that was just the kind of person you were. I miss you everyday and you will never be forgotten. RIP my friend
