Its been 7 years my friend since we received that call that changed the lives of many. Many things have changed in the last 7 years, but one thing that remains the same is the impact you made on all of our lives. Continue to watch over us from above and know that you are forever in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace buddy.

Your birthday is the most difficult for me to go through. I can still see a newly turned 19 year old and ten years later a 29 year old when I close my eyes. Just like the Kenny Chesney song says... "Sometimes I wonder, who you'd be today!" Happy 36th birthday Snookums! I'll love you with all my heart forever! Going on 7 years later and I still find myself saying... "Wow, I can't belive you're gone!" Time to get this month over with!

Wow, Christmas has passed, New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, almost Memorial Day and soon it will be closer to your death in the line of duty. Miss reading reflections from Jennifer, must be gradually moving on, I am sure she remembers you and your love. So young to be taken from your loved ones, the call of duty, only doing our jobs, May you forever rest in peace my friend.

Happy Thanksgiving Snookums! I know you would have been stuffed on mashed potatoes and rolls by the end of the day. lol
I remember writing on here six years ago how I was not even thankful for waking up Thanksgiving morning of 2004. I failed to realize all that I had been blessed with (the 10 years we shared together, family, friends, etc.) and what blessings the future would possibly hold for me (there have been many so far). Our nieces and nephew are getting so big and you would be so proud of all of them. You would want to put your foot up their rears at times, but overall, you would be proud. lol
You are missed with every heartbeat I make Duke! I love you! And please tell my grandparents and uncles they are missed and loved too!
Love,
Jenn

It has been six years since we lost you. It's hard to believe how much life has changed since then. Even know your are gone you have not been forgotten. May we remember your smile and friendship. Rest in peace.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 6th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Duke,
I still remember you leaning over and giving me a kiss and the last words you said to me that morning, which were "I love you". God afforded me the opportunity to be with you as you took your last breath and for that I am eternally grateful. There have been so many signs that you have been with me this month and they have made me smile and at times break down in tears. I have had so many people tell me how strong of a woman I am, but even this strong woman has moments of weakness! I love and miss you always!
* The other day I passed the roadside memorial sign and I could see the grass was cut around the sign (and high everywhere else). I'd like to take a moment to thank those with the MdTA, SHA, citizens of the Eastern Shore who live in the community off of the service road, and to everyone else who continue to think of Duke and maintain the ground around the sign in these tough economic times and budget cuts. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you Duke for giving me a dear friend that no matter how long of time period passes that we don't talk, when we do it doesn't seem to long. Jenn,
Thanks for the chat. I always feel like no matter how much time passes, we always pick up where we left off. It's still amazing we have never met in person but someday...for real. Thinking of you during National Police Week. Our lives will never be the same for sure.

Duke,
Our song came on the car radio this morning. My mind took me back to the very first time you sang it to me and it made me smile. A play is being planned based on the movie. I'll be sure to go and see it if it happens.
I love and miss you always!
Love you,

It's Christmas Eve. Took the girls to breakfast and we laughed talking about Christmas memories and how some stuff has not changed when it comes to some traditions. Hope you're enjoying the white Christmas we have going on down here. I'm sure you were laughing at me the other day as you always did about me having everything shoveled (like I always did before you would get home from work). Rick, Sharon, and the boys are still a blast to shovel with LOL. I could hear you in my mind saying anxiously "it's snowing, it's snowing!" and I smiled.
Merry Christmas Snookums! I love and miss you always!
Love,

I saw one of the Maryland State Police flight paramedics from Trooper 6 that took you to Shock Trauma the other day. I told them how I was in debt for the rest of my life with gratitude to them (and Dr. Scalea) for giving me that last hour with you before you passed. The season is changing again. It's almost caramel apple time!
I love and miss you Duke!
