Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Bay Constable Richard L. Brooks

I worked with Richie when he was a sgt. and a nicer person you couldn't meet. I always knew him as a hard worker and was highly respected by the men he commanded. I've never forgotten him.

Ritchie was a great guy, a real cop's boss!! Worked for him in Transit Rescue back in the 90's. He is sorely missed.

I remember working with Rich in TD-01 when he arrived as a new Sgt. I also recall chatting with him several times riding back home on the LIRR. WE lived a couple of stops apart. There was an incident where he had assisted Amityville P.D. officers with an armed passenger, I believe. GOD bless Rich and his family.

It's always so hard to visit this page because you can't avoid how much pain there still is surrounding your passing. But it's also so wonderful to see how loved you were and still are.

I am proud to be your daughter, Dad. The older I get, the more grateful I become and the more I realize what an incredible job you and Mom did raising us. I love you and always will. I wish I could tell you thanks for everything in person, but this is as close as I will get. For now, anyway.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the sixth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
