TO:The family;loved ones;friends and department members: A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER:--- O, gentle Lord! Keep the day/night watch with me.As I begin my tour of duty,I ask your protection from all mental ,physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people..Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be corageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Let me respond to all calls with haste realizing that so many are dependent upon me for life and safety.Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think that no one really cares and that I am taken for granted. Sustain in me the conviction that so many thousands do care and are grateful for my presence. Grant that I may be loyal to my partner and my fellow officers, and that I may back them up effectively when called upon for assistance. Lord, I ask that I may return safely ,after my tour of duty,to my loved ones and those who love me. I pray that I may be a good and honorable police officer;and after my tour of duty is over here on earth, may I enjoy the peace and happiness of heaven that you have promised to those who serve you well.AMEN.***REST IN PEACE***Sent to you by the father of Master Officer J.D.Koeppen,Capital City Raleigh NC:Trooper D.C.Koeppen,NJ State Police and Cadet Officer A.M.Koeppen,Wilmington NC.

One week ago you were taken away from us without warning. Although you are not with us on earth, "GEORGE" YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. The following day was even more painful as I knew we were scehduled to work a detail together and you would not be there with me. Things will never be the same without you. The old saying 'Only the good die young' turned out to be very true. But in this case I guess god needed you more so he took one of the best. Thank you for all the humor and charisma you possessed and everything you did while you were here with us.

May you rest in eternal peace George. My prayers are with you, your family, and friends.

Until we meet again, I MISS YOU, I LOVE YOU and GOD BLESS YOU.

I have read so many things about George and what a great person he was. He was loved by so many people and will be missed...but not forgotten. I regret I never got to know him, but I (and every other law enforcement member) feels the loss. Thank you George, for your service and for what you meant to everybody who knew you. God bless you, your family, and all your friends.

Hello my name is John Netto, Geroge was my BEST friend as well as John Fortunato (Col JPSO), along with many MANY others, the list of names would take pages and pages. To have known George was the greast pleasure of all. Not to have known him, YOU truly have missed the greastest friend, person, and Officer there ever was.

An qoute from J. Fortunato
George was a man who surrounded himself with everyone he met, in a certain way. His repertoire of acquaintances included people from all walks of life, we know who they were. But to me, George was cautious in choosing his innermost circle of truly real friends. People who helped influence him in making decisions on a daily basis. Things he loved the most. George was an entertainer, he was a hustler, and a list of other characters; but most of all he was a magician. He transcended some of those friends, some of those acquaintances into a group of people he dearly loved and truly cared for. We can all sit back and think of the silly things he did that brings a smile to our faces or a tear to our eyes. But we can also remind ourselves of what a caring person George really was. You know it's kind of funny and strange too, how each of us characterized what a George Tessier was.

George your are a part of my family, you were my broter and my BEST FRIEND. I will cherish the times we had toghter. If I could have just a few more minuts to say to you, Id say "Geroge I Love you". Your best friend,

My deepest sympathies and prayers to the family, friends, and co-workers of Officer Tessier. I have lost three friends in the last three years: Trooper Calvin Taylor EOW 10/3/01
Trooper Anthony Cogdill EOW 5/30/03
and most recently, one of our own

It is hard to understand why such good men are taken, but it gives me comfort to know that they are now in heaven looking down, smiling upon us, and protecting the rest of us. THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS.
"STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"
THE POLICEMAN SQUARED HIS SHOULDERS AND SAID, "NO LORD, I GUESS I AIN'T, BECAUSE THOSE OF US THAT CARRY BADGES CAN'T ALWAYS BE A SAINT. I'VE HAD TO WORK MOST SUNDAYS, AND AT TIMES MY TALK WAS ROUGH, AND SOMETIMES I'VE BEEN VIOLENT BECAUSE THE STREETS ARE AWFULLY TOUGH.
BUT I NEVER TOOK A PENNY, THAT WASN'T MINE TO KEEP. THOUGH I WORKED A LOT OF OVERTIME WHEN THE BILLS JUST GOT TOO STEEP.
AND I NEVER PASSED A CRY FOR HELP, THOUGH AT TIMES I SHOOK WITH FEAR. AND SOMETIMES GOD, FORGIVE ME, I'VE WEPT UNMANLY TEARS. I KNOW I DON'T DESERVE A PLACE AMONG THE PEOPLE HERE, THEY NEVER WANTED ME AROUND EXCEPT TO CALM THEIR FEAR.
IF YOU'VE A PLACE FOR ME HERE, LORD IT NEEDN'T BE SO GRAND I NEVER EXPECTED OR HAD TOO MUCH BUT IF YOU DON'T I'LL UNDERSTAND."
THERE WAS SILENCE ALL AROUND THE THRONE WHERE THE SAINTS HAD OFTEN TROD, AS THE POLICEMAN WAITED QUIETLY FOR THE JUDGMENT OF HIS GOD. "STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN. YOU'VE BORNE YOUR BURDENS WELL. COME WALK A BEAT ON HEAVENS STREETS YOU'VE DONE YOUR TIME IN HELL."

Somebody killed a policeman today and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who drove the truck will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights
While a mother must spend long and lonely nights
The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,
Just as if he'd gone to war
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star
Yep, somebody killed a policeman today, In your town or mine
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side
He answered the call, of himself gave his all
And a part of America died
