Reflections for Police Officer Brian Donte Winder
Brian,
I know you're watching over Lorrie and the family, and I know you've been a little more watchful with the family since Gary died.. Continue to watch over them, help Latanya stay safe. The city's just not safe anymore but they fight on. I think of Lorrie and the boys and how well they did that 1st Police Week Emerald Society parade....I know you were just beaming at the way they carried themselves despite the weather. I know you were cheering when he made the hole in one during the trip to Steeler training camp. Sorry I never was a Raven fan!!!

HEY BRIAN, I THOUGHT I MIGHT SHARE THIS DREAM I HAD OF YOU
A WEEK AGO. I DREAM THAT I WALKED IN THE HOUSE AND I ASKED NESSIE WHO WAS SHE TALKING TO AND SHE SAID BRIAN, SMILING AS IF SHE HIT THE JACKPOT, SO I GOT EXCITED & SAID LET ME TALK TO HIM. AS I WAS TALKING TO U IT FELT LIKE YOU NEVER LEFT US. ONE THING THAT STOOD OUT WAS THAT YOU SOUND SO HAPPY & FREE & WHEN I ASKED YOU HOW IS IT IN HEAVEN I WOKE UP. I TOOK THAT DREAM AND ALL THE OTHER ONES I HAVE OF YOU THAT YOUR LETTING ME KNOW THAT YOUR OK AND YOUR WATCHING OVER ALL OF US. I JUST WISH YOU DID NOT HAVE TO GO SO SOON.
ALSO CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER YOUR FELLOW FRIENDS & CO WORKERS ESPECIALLY LATONYA, SHE IS SUCH A GOOD PERSON BRIAN I SEE WHY THE TWO OF YOU WERE FRIENDS SHE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR US. WELL BRIAN I'LL WRITE BACK LATER. LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!

Hi Lorrie and family. I was making my rounds on ODMP today (which I haven't done in awhile) and am stopping by to let all of you know that you are all still in my thoughts. I hope all is as well as can be. Brian, I must say, your wife has been a blessing in my life. We may not talk for weeks or a few months at a time, but when we do, it is as if time never got between us. Continue to keep watching over all of your family, friends and co-workers from above. I know you are proud of Tanya as well and her accomplishments with the charity race. I too am proud of her. Take care everyone!

Hello Bear, Well, another hoilday has come and gone without your smile and laughter which is deeply missed. When I ask you to continue to look out for the officers still working the evil streets of Maryland especially Baltimore City, You are. Thank God that the officer hurt on 4/6, is still here and help got to him in time. Thank you for looking out for Officer Powell with her injury. God protected her from sustaining a more serious injury and may her eye heal completely. I do continue to pray for the officers in your district, other districts in the city, officers in every agency in the state of Maryland, and every other agency in the United States. All my love to you, Brandon and Corey are doing well. They deeply miss you. Continue to guide and keep them in your loving arms and prayers from above. Your Lulu

Hey B, again another officer was injured in our sector. He was chasing after a suspect on 04/06/07 right after shift change, caught the suspect and two other suspects came from behind him, beat the officer, stab the officer several times, but it did not penetrate his vest, they tried to take his gun and pulled off his radio. By the grace of God he screamed on the radio for help and help got to him, from us, baltimore county, etc... I was injured last week arresting a suspect, causing my eye to bleed and swell. Yet being that we are going out on the street with 5-8 officers less than we should because officer's are sick and injured both physically and mentally, we are not allowed to have overtime to fill these spots, because we are making "too much money". What I have learned- officer's safety comes first, and the calls that are pilling up comes last. That's all I can say, I am just disgusted.

Hello Bear, Please continue to look out for your brothers and sisters in blue on these evil streets. It seems like the offices are looked upon as the enemy. Continue to pray for them and let Officer Powell know not to give up and a better day is coming were Police Officers will get the respect they once had. I miss you as always. Look out for my brother Gary who joined you. Let him know he is missed too! All my Love, Lulu

Hello,
We never met , I worked with your wife in baltimore county, and just wanted to let you know , just as my brother you'll also never be forgotten. You think so many acts of violance. The world will never be safe if people keep killing and just being disrespectful to our officers. I, just like Mrs. Winder, am too a fficer, and with people on the steets that don't obey the law, there is really nothing that we can do . Because the laws are made to protect them, not the officers. so i'm here to ask you to watch over my brother up there for me . and Mrs. Winder your always be in my preyers. God Bless you all.

Hey B, you know, I don't know what can be done for us officers anymore and I'm to the point where I don't know what can be done on these streets. It's to the point where if you try your best , it is just not good enough. I don't want to feel helpless out here but there is no support for us. I wish you were here to help me to see what I'm overlooking. I miss your guidance, your style, your professionalism, your back up and your friendship. Its not easy trying to do a job where you are made to be the enemy trying to help others. We need you B. You are truly missed. Your friend and partner,

Hello Bear, That time of the month is drawing near and it is odd when the 3rd of each month comes Brandon is out of sink with things. I know it is because you and he are biologically connected and that connection is broken. He is such a strong willed little fellow that doesn't want to be called little. Just continue to watch over him as you do and I know he will always be ok. Continue to watch over your brothers and sisters on these evil streets of Baltimore. Keep them in prayer for safety and guidence. All My Love To You, Lulu

Hey B, cant sleep again. I have been thinking about you alot. I miss you and wish that you were here. The streets are getting worse and its seems that trying to help people to change their ways or to see a better path aren't working and its gets so frustrating and draining. I'm trying to keep the faith and go in the path that you always did. It's hard and I feel numb inside. At this point, I'm trying everyday to turn everything over to God and to let Him lead the way, for I know that I am here to do His work. Please watch over us and don't forget us.

Dear Lorrie,
Happy New Year to you and your family! Thank you for the kind words about working for the Police Memorial. Keeping John's memory alive has always been a mission of mind because my children didn't really get to to know their father. They were so young when John was killed. Holidays are so bittersweet for all of us survivors. It doesn't matter how many years pass, we miss them today just as much as we did when we first lost them. We just hold them closer to our hearts and continue our journey. You are in my thoughts a lot.
