Reflections for Sergeant Gregory Lei Hunter
Today we mourn as yet another hero is taken from us too soon. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of Sergeant Hunter. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Rest in peace for your watch here is over; walk in heavens beat and guide us all to protect and serve others safely.

Greg, I just couldn't believe the news today. I got a phone call letting me know what happened, watched the news and still couldn't believe it. I feel numb as I write this. I remember when I first met you, I was a police explorer about 16 years ago. You gave me encouragement when I applied for a job at the jail and I got the job with Grand Prairie. I will always remember your easy going personality and will miss you as will all your brothers and sisters in blue. May God bless you and your family. Rest easy warrior!

We are very sorry for the loss of Sgt Hunter to his Department and his family. Unfortunately our department recently also had two officers murdered, so we do understand very well the pain and anger all of you are feeling because of this senseless act. Just know that we are thinking of you and praying for all of you.

I didn't personally know Sgt Hunter, but having been a dispatcher for the last 12 years and having lost a good friend, Officer Conrad Gernale not quite 2 short years ago, my heart goes out to all of the Law Enforcement family of Grand Prairie police department. The grief is heavy and doesn't easily go away for anyone. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and just know Sgt Hunter is now standing watch in heaven over all of us as he was here on earth.
May God be with all of you during this time, his wife and children, and his family at Grand Prairie police department.

This murder angers and saddens me as it does all other officers than wear the badge. Sgt. Hunter was on duty, in uniform, protecting all of us when that coward ambushed and murdered him. You will never be forgotten Sgt. Hunter. Go rest high on that mountain for you have given it your "all" with love and respect, Ken Carter

Waging a daily battle, out there trying to win the war. Never knowing what you'll encounter, on this stop or from behind that next door.
One more fallen comrade, is gone and out of our sight. Yet guiding us from up above, always riding on our right.

I had the pleasure of knowing Greg for over 20 yrs. I was a dispatcher in GP (1982-1985)and worked with Greg alot. He always made a point to recognize me in a group. I just loved his laugh and ever present smile. This just tears my heart out.
