Reflections for Officer C. Robert Bennett

Your deaths sparked a shockwave of news nationwide this week.....what a tragedy. My deepest thoughts go out to your family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time. Thank you for doing this thankless job and serving as you made the ultimate sacrifice.

To the family of Officer C. Robert Bennett,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. It was very unfortunate to hear of Robert's passing. Our family has known Robert for years, from the time that he worked at Dun-Rite cleaners. Robert was a wonderful and sweet young man. He had high goals and a lot of ambition. He went far in his short life, and we wish the best for your family. Our wishes are with his little girl that she will grow up knowing what wonderful father she had! Thank you Robert for being such a wonderful person, may God bless you and your family.

Love,

TO:The family;loved ones;friends and department members: A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER:- O, gentle Lord! Keep the day/night watch with me. As I begin my tour of duty I ask your protection from all mental, physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people. Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be courageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Let me respond to all calls with haste realizing that so many are dependent upon me for life and safety. Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think no one really cares and that I am taken for granted.Sustain in me the conviction that so many thousands do care and are grateful for my presence. Grant that I may be loyal to my partner and my fellow officers, and that I may back them up effectively when called upon for assistance. Lord,I ask that I may return safely, after my tour of duty ,to my loved ones and those who love me.I pray that I may be a good and honroable police officer;and after my tour of duty is over here on earth, may I enjoy the peace and happiness of heaven that you have promised to those who serve you well.AMEN.***REST IN PEACE*** Sent to you by the father of First Class Officer J.D.Koeppen,Capital City Raleigh NC,Trooper D.C.Koeppen ,NJ State Police and Cadet Officer A.M.Koeppen,Wilmington NC.

May God Bless the family of these fallin officers. As others have said it takes a special person to put their lives on the line everyday for citizens that they may never know or meet. These officers are now in a better place and although they will be missed we will be able to see them again. Thank you again and they will be missed. Rest in peace and God Bless.

You gave the ultimate sacrifice. The citizens of Birmingham and America lost a true hero. Gods' kingdom has no violence and only peaceful streets. You now walk a beat on one of them. We will all walk side by side one day. Stay safe and we will see you there one day.

This is yet another tragedy that we as Christians must hold on to all of the promises of God. To the families of this tragedy... Know this, God said no injustice will go unpunished, and that He is fighting on your behalf. He understands your hurt and pain right now. Allow Him to put his arms around you and Love on you through the many people he has and will touch to bring brighter days. I hurt because you hurt, I am praying for all the victims of this tragedy. May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Satan is defeated.

As a brother officer, I am deeply sadden by the loss our my fellow brothers in Alabama. We never know the cost of doing this job, to protect and serve our fellow man. But I am assured that we will meet each of our brothers over on the other side. For the many of us who have chosen this way of life, we ask God to guard us closer with his arms of protection, to be with us each day, as we face danger and if we fall to carry us home to his Glory. To the family of Officer Charles Robert Bennett, and his fellow conrades - IT IS my prayer that God will cover your pain and send sunshine of good memories to ease your sorrow. May God Bless the men and women who wear the badge - to be soilders in this land to defend the weak and the strong.

I pray that you will be our eyes, to watch us where we go. Help us to be wise, in times when we don't know. Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way. Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace, give us faith so we will be safe.

Thank you for your dedication in public service. For the family, my heart and prayers are with you during this time. May you find comfort in the Holy Spirit and from your friends and extended family as we hold you hands and reach out with love. It takes a special person with a special strength to reach out to others while in the line of duty. I believe Officer Bennett was that kind of person. May he rest in peace, knowing that he served us well. May the family members know that peace~
