I am sure you know that your killer is burning in Hell now. He was a coward and took the cowardly way out. But he is where he should be...Burning for all enternity.

God Bless you Mark. We will never forget you....

It is very frightening to know that the killer is still out there, but he is not free. He will never be free... because everyone is watching for him. He will be caught, justice will be served. My God, how the tears fall every time I think of Mark's family, friends and co-workers during this tragic time. God's peace be with all of you; Mark's family is in our prayers. I am proud and thankful for the men and women in law enforcement, who put their lives on the line every day to protect others. Please, thank a cop today. Let them know how sincerely grateful you are for their service.

I just want you to know that your killer will be caught ... and he will be caught soon. Every camaro that goes past me gets a second (and sometimes third) look. You will never be forgotten. I know you will keep watch over your brothers and sisters in law enforcement as we continue to hold the line.

I guess I was out of town and missed the news that one of the Sterling Heights officers had been murdered while on patrol, protecting us - until surfing the net this evening. I hope that his wife and young child know that those of us he sought to protect appreciate the efforts he made to make our community a safe and "sane" place to live. Any person that serves for the benefit of others deserves our respect and admiration. My hear goes out to not only Mark's family and friends - but also to those who continue to serve and put their lives on the line for me, my family and friends. I believe there is a special place in Heaven for those who make it thier lives work to care for others.......assuming that that belief is true...........Mark is sitting at the head table......

Mark,
Just wanted to say I miss you. I think of you everyday. I think of Lily and Yvonne everyday. I say a prayer for your family that God will give them strength. Being at work isn't the same without you. It is a comfort knowing you are watching over us all, but you are still so deeply missed.

Although I do not know the family or Officer Sawyers, after reading what happened, I am so saddened for all of you. What a horrible tragedy. My prayers and condolences are with you all. There has always been a special place in my heart for the men and women in law enforcement. You are not alone in your grieving. May God watch over all of you, and may Officer Mark Sawyers rest in peace. And lastly, may Mark's memory live on forever through his daughter. God be with you all.

Mrs. Sawyers, Lily, family and friends of Mark, please know that the Macomb County Probation Department is working hard to locate this criminal that ripped this husband, police officer, friend, neighbor and most of all, daddy from this Earth. We have the Wanted flyer on our desks and in the lobby. I personally ask everyone of my offenders if they know this person. I've emailed the flyer out to everyone in my email address book. I look everywhere for the red Camero. I am so sorry for Lily. So very sorry. To his friends at SHPD, I can't imagine the grief you feel everyday as you walk by his locker, the memorial, etc. To his wife, I know your best friend is watching over you. Sorry this is so long. I just feel so very badly for everyone.

Yvonne,

My worst nightmare has become your reality. I am so sorry for your loss. I know no words can ease your pain and I won't try to pretend I know what you are going through. I just wanted you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. My husband is a police officer and in the honor guard for Rochester, he attended your husbands funeral and said the support there was amazing.

When I saw your wedding picture on the news the first thing I told my husband was that I knew you, I knew that smile from somewhere. When I read your moms reflection and saw the last name I realized that we went to school together (East Detroit). I am not sure if you remember me Heather Glenday (now Willard) we hung out a lot with Crystal and Jason Vinci, and Sarah Wilson. Anyhow friendships come and go in high school but if you do remember me and if there is anything I can do for you if just to listen from one wife to another please contact me.

Take care of you and your daughter and God Bless you!
