First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I just received a call from my father who was so excited to find this information on the internet after performing a search for John H. Yarbrough, Sr., the above mentioned officer's father who was killed in the Civil War 150 years ago yesterday.
The relevance? John H. Yarbrough, the subject of this article, is my great great grandfather! John Yarbrough was my father's, father's, mother's father.
I've always heard stories about this loss, and it's absolutely fantastic to see that he is still remembered for his service and ultimate sacrifice. I too am a former police officer (now a fraud investigator for a private company), so it's apparent to me that the blue blood runs deep!
I speak for my father, my children and me when I say that we think and speak of you often, and we're so honored to be related to you. Your memory has been, and always will be carried on.
May God bless your soul and give you peace!

In the blink of an eye for the way that he tried, he paid the ultimate price.... Along with all others whom we honor each spring with words that we speak and the songs that we sing. Lies the question we all ask, which no one can say.....This man gave his all....Did I come close today?
You will not be forgotten....
