Reflections for Policeman John E. Miller

Thank you Policeman John Miller for you service to your country and community 100 years ago today.

Policeman Miller, I was blessed to work with a John Miller who was my supervisor and an honorable, decent and good man. I truly enjoyed working with/for him and had a lot of respect for him. I imagine you were all of the above and those who served with you had similar feelings.

Sadly, the John Miller I worked with was taken due to a stroke caused at work by an uncaring administration and years later, he died of cancer. Your murder was no less tragic and wrong.

On this 100th anniversary of your sacrifice, I honor you and tip my hat to your heroism. I can only hope that those who knew and loved you best kept your memory alive and well in their hearts and minds and that that memory was passed along to subsequent generations.

God Bless and may your eternal rest be always peaceful, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your sacrifice was made so many years ago. Evil was, is, and will be a part of life just as goodness such as yours will also be present.

Rest In Peace

Officer Miller,
On today, the 94th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Ann Arundel County. It took a few more months, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.

Patrolman Miller, even the greatest shots have misses in the best of circumstances, that you were able to wound the scum who murdered you after being so grievously wounded yourself is a testament to you. On this 91st anniversary of your death, I salute you for your efforts on that date, and for your service to the people of your community. You are a hero.

God Bless and may you Rest in Peace, Brother.
