All too often, we just wave or nod at each other as we pass, one cruiser to another. Occasionally you get to know these people from backing them up on traffic stops or sharing Christmas dinner at 7-11 on Midnights. You never really think that this will be the last time that you will see each other. I helped Tony with an arrest one night and got to talk to him for an hour, maybe two. He was really a nice, funny guy who definitely was dedicated to his job. We should all aspire to be as squared-away and committed to our profession. I hope you rest in peace- You've earned it...We've got it from here.
