brian.
i thank you for allowing me the pleasure of working with you for such a short time in your young life. from the first time we worked together, i knew you were a special person. in all my years at the jail, i have never warmed up to anyone as fast as i did to you. you were like a son to me, and i have a whole in my heart that will never be filled. you have taught me so much during your time with us, i will never forget you. i know in my heart, that your are walking with me in the jail, everywhere i turn i see your face, or i hear your laugh. i look into the pods, and see you cunducting a cell search, and smilling the whole time. the name breana still sticks in my mind when talking to big bob. i hope you are happy in the next life, and keep the radio on, for we will meet again, and laugh about the time we had together. your friend sgt.tiny #303

Deputy Brian Haas was a very dedicated and enjoyable man to work with and made all of us that had the pleasure of working with him and knowing him proud. His parents did an awesome job raising the perfect son. He was a very kind and passionate, yet firm and take charge kind of man when needed be. He was what you would hope every law enforcement officer could turn out to be like and be proud of it too. His smile and laughter will be missed forever even though I know he is in a better place now and is looking over us all and still do what he always wanted to do. Help others and keep peace. My thought and prayers are with his family, and friends, and all our fellow officers. The loss of this fine Deputy has affected us all, but it will only make us a stronger family and that is what Deputy Haas would want.

My praayers go out to the family and friends of Deputy Brain Haas of the Hendry Sheriffs Office. I knew Deputy Haas beause he went through the same 93rd academy class with me sitting next to me. We went through the tough exams and training and he never complained. This is the job he loved and he passed away doing something he loved. If any officer could be half the officer I knew he turned into the world would be a much safer place. We will all miss you Deputy Haas and you will never be forgotten. God Speed.

Deputy Haas will be missed by all of us that knew him. I was fortunate not only to know him from "the 93rd CO" but also in high school. All my and my fellow officers prayers are with him. He made a postive lasting impression on many just with his smile, and that is something that I will never forget. God bless you Brian, and thank you for all that you gave.

To #157, my friend and co-worker.
Brian touched a lot of people during his brief time at H.C.S.O. He was one of a kind, 19 years old when he started in the jail. He was different from other young officers who had worked here before. Brian had goals and he knew he had to do certain things to reach them. He had respect for his fellow employees, a rare trait at 19 year olds. Brian performed his duties and took his job seriously, another trait uncommon for his age. I take my hat off to his parents who had a great formula in the upbringing of Brian. I was surprised at some of the things Brian wanted to do at his age. They were things that someone beyond his age wouldn't even think about. Everyone liked Brian at work, no doubt about that. Brian was a very good 3rd floor and booking officer. He will always be loved and missed by Squad "C"

Deputy Brian Haas has gone to the life of "perfect service' in God's heavenly kingdom.

Our condolences and sympathy go to the parents, sister, grandparents and relatives of Deputy Haas. This young man choose to fulfill his purpose in life by serving and protecting citizens as an honorable Law Enforcement Officer.
We ask that the Lord grant to this bereaved family the spirit of faith and courage. May they have strength to meet the days to come in thankful rememberance of the past.

We ask that comfort be given to the Hendry County Law Enforcement family who we know are dealing with the shock and grief of loosing a fellow officer. I don't think any "families" have a better understanding of what it means each and every time an officer leaves his or her family for a shift, that they may be leaving home for the last time. This is a reality that any law enforcement officer and his loved ones live with and accept. God Bless you and all who serve in law enforcement.
