I was in the car in front of Brandon on that aweful evening, I was driving home from work, the kid driving drunk was in our lane head on coming opposite direction and swurved around me at the last split second and re-entered the lane hitting Brandon head on.

Brandon my old friend,

I was thinking about you today as the memorial band I had made for you arrived. I will wear it with honor my friend. I have very fond memories of you and all the times we spent together laughing and just cutting up in New Brockton and Troy. You were there for me thru the darkest time of my life and I will forever love you for that and want you to know I still consider you one of my dearest friends. Rest Easy Brother and thanks for all the good times. You are dearly missed.

I am sorry brother, to you and your family . Time washes away the people’s pain and people’s memories . Though they may not remember or realize the impact . You are a good man . Former Opp Police Officer and acquaintance . I will not forget your memory and sacrifice.

It's been another year since you was taken from us. I know I and many others still miss you terribly. Things have changed so much for us in the law enforcement field and it has not been for the better. We are in a time where it seems everyone from the President down to the lowest street thug is on the same sheet of music singing how bad all police are. If any of these idiots had ever been in a position where someone like you were taken from them like you were taken from us, they would certainly change their tune. Being left behind is the hardest part. Not seeing you, not talking to you, and just knowing you're no longer here is so hard to grasp even after all this time. You always believed in me and for that I will be eternally thankful. Austin and I kept our promise and did the best we could do to accomplish what you asked. We both talk about you often and share the same old stories as we never get tired of hearing them. Rest high on that mountain my friend. Rest high.

My sweet nephew, you will never know how much I miss you. You were so awesome and such a loving person. Your heart was bigger than the world. I love you and will never forget how proud I was to see you find your dream job. You are greatly missed and loved. See you again one day soon! Love you, Aunt Kathy.

Brandon,

It is so very hard for me to believe that you are gone and that it has been 11 years since your passing. It is something I will NEVER forget. I too, took your death VERY, VERY HARD, and I've tried on numerous occasions to leave you a note, but was always unable to get through the tears. I think of you all the time still, and will forever hold onto your laugh. I can hear it as if it were yesterday. I am so very sorry for the way things ended between the two of us, but you would be happy to know though, that your Mother and I have taken several of our trips together to Birmingham since your passing (just like old times). I was going through some of my things at my parents' home just the other day, and even found our pictures that we had made together - WOW! How time does pass; I can honestly say now though, that I've finally been able to forgive myself for the guilt that I felt after your death. And although time doesn't stand still for anyone, you will ALWAYS be a part of me, and I will never, EVER forget you, and the time we spent together. I have some awesome memories of us together, just like most everyone else who has written on your page, but I still to this day, believe that ours were "extra special." After all, you did get married on my birthday! I loved you then, and will go on loving you forever.

I think about it every year at this time. No one can predict when their time will come, and for a long time I always thought you were taken away too too soon and life would never be the same without you. The truth is that God has a plan for each of us. Each of your friend's can reflect on the many jokes or funny things you did, even in the most serious situations (like at work). The truth was that our paths were never meant to cross again on this earth and YOUR bigger plan was to be an angel for the ones you left behind. May all of your family and friends still reflect on the good in you and the many laughs you shared with each of them. God Bless you all! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of it, if only for a short time.

Brandon is seems like yesterday that we were in front of Covington Electronics talking and laughing about your red Mustang. If only I knew that within an hour, I would be working the wreck that took you from all of us. Maybe I would have said something or done something different. You just never know. I ride by that place often and always think of you. I bump my siren and pray for your family. I know that you are looking down on us from time to time. Keep an eye on the new guys and the old ones. The new guys need guidance and the old guys need a break!!! Ha! Ha! God Bless you Brandon. I will see you again one day and we will pick up where we left off.

Brandon ...so your family will know...you never know how this comes full circle and you STILL touch peoples lives everyday. Having a conversation with a coworker about my stepson today, and he shared a story about a friend of his. This friend was Brandon, so we shared!!! Our families are forever joined through the pain and loss but also through the joy of knowing we will see our sons again...
