There is never a day without a thought of you. We miss you so very much. Your courage and your bravery never wavered in all that you did as an Officer, a Marine and a man. You gave so much to this world , so much to our lives. We lost you way to soon and were blessed to have you in our lives. You are forever in our hearts. We love and miss you. Mom Dad and Susan.

Sarge, it's been 14 years since you were taken from us and it's still hard to remember that day and the days that followed without being angry. I'm honored to have known you and to have worked with you on Patrol (Charlie Squad), and to have been aggravated by you at my change in squads when I went to Baker and you went to Edward. And I will forever remember sliding the blame over to you when Lt. Rainwater asked "who the hell put those gaudy decorations on my mailbox?" HAHAHA still love and cherish those days, you and your sweet family!

Hi honey,
It's just mom checking in to tell you love you and miss you every minute of every day that passes. Yesterday was a very special
day. The Patrol Office bldg. was named in your memory.A ceremony was held and the name became official by the reading of the proclamation issued by the county Commissioners and the dedication by the Sheriff.`A beautiful brass plaque was unveiled by Susan, your dad and me. Pouring down rains were predicted but the friends, patrol Officers, your co-workers, both active and retired, came to honor you and the rains stayed away!
Of course there was cake, cookies, chips.,etc, all of your favorite foods. We are so blessed honey. So many happy memories were passed around and we celebrated your life, your smiles and your laughter. Your birthday was on the first day of spring, March 20th, a time of new beginnings and renewed hope and we hope each time an officer passes thru the doors of the building they we pause for a moment, reflecting on your time on this earth, your smile, your laughter and your wonderful sense of humor , making their days a little brighter and lifting theirs spirits as they go about their daily duties.

Jeff,
It is hard to believe that it has been 12 years. My emotions are still stirred and my thoughts are drawn to you every April and every time I see or read about another first responder who has died serving their communities. Unfortunately I am seeing and hearing that more and more these days. My heart breaks for the families because I know their lives will never be the same. Finding a new normal is a painful and lonely journey especially when all you want is your loved one back. The old normal is what we long for but cannot have. As we know, it is not always for us to understand these things for there are greater forces at work in this realm. It is however, for us to remember the heroic life that you lived, the love that you gave and the ultimate sacrifice that you made. It is for us to live our own lives and to follow our own paths in such a way that we also leave a legacy of courage, honor, commitment, love and compassion. When I think of heroic individuals I think of you and alongside the sadness of your loss I also feel very proud that I can say that you are part of my family. You willingly served your family, your community and your country with integrity and honor. Your life made a difference. I love you Jeff! You are remembered! Oh yes, you didn't know my Kyle super well but he has just become a paramedic and in our area if you are a paramedic and want to work at a fire house then you are also going to become a firefighter. So keep an eye on my boy and keep him safe.

You would be 46 in years, down here,
Yet you, are forever young.
With wings you watch above us
As those you walk among.
Another Man in Blue, a father and a son,
A Mother with a badge, who left her little ones.
A Soldier and a Firefighter....A Guard, an EMT,
So many there surround you,
In the name of Love for Peace.
With honor we salute you
and in grief, we shed our tears,
For there are no more here just like you
We miss you more each year.
God called you home,
We wanted you to stay,
Your days on earth were few,
Our lives forever changed.
Thank you my Big Little Brother,
For all you are to me,
I could never have a better,
Whose memories are as sweet.
I love and miss you every single day. I hope you caught our Balloons .Happy Birthday
Love Susan, Mom and Dad

Good morning son,
It's almost Christmas and we miss you so much. Nothing ever seems the same since we lost you. Our hearts still ache and the tears still fall. Blue lights are burning in the windows for you ,Joe and oh so many officers who have fallen since you passed. We know you are watching over us-text received-we feel your presence at the most unexpected times and it makes us smile because we know your sense of humor is still very much intact! We see your smile and hear your laughter and that keeps us going. Be with Susan as she travels and watch over your dad; keeping them safe and secure in your care. You are loved and honored in so many different ways each and every day.
Merry CHRISTmas honey,
With all our love forever and always,

Dear Jeff,
Sure has been a long time since I've been able to leave you a reflection, but that doesn't mean that there hasn't been a day that I don't look at your picture and think of you. You will always be missed and will forever be in my heart. My forever Hero. Watch over everyone and I'll see you soon. Love you

Remembering you & thinking about Tracie & the rest of your family during this Christmas season. Thanks Jeff for your service to our country as a Marine and to the people of Buncombe County. Times are hard for our officers & military folks right now - watch over them from above - as you protected here on earth.

Dearest Jeff,
There are no words to express our feelings as we gathered with our "extended family" at the Sheriffs' dept., family and friends and others who came to honor and remember you on the 4th for the candle light service at the Sheriffs dept and the 5th at the Cliffs for the memorial run/walk. Even though we know it was ten years on 040404 in our hearts it was it seems like only yesterday. Never doubt that you are still remembered and loved by everyone who ever knew you.
In Loving Memory of our wonderful son
In Our Hearts
We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday, and the days before that too. We think of you in Silence. We often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we'll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart.
We love you honey,
Keep watch over all of us as you walk the streets of Heaven.
