"If I should leave this world without a warning,
and not even whisper a fond farewell,
grieve not for one more message from the lips
that God has stilled.
But just remember me with love and prayers
for my soul's journey to that fair land
beyond life's tears." - Author Unknown.
May God bless you Officer Van Kuren and may He welcome you into His Kingdom.

I was just informed by relatives about the tragedy that occurred in my hometown. I have been in law enforcement since I moved from that valley over twenty years ago where I used to hunt and play. I would like to thank you for your dedication, and commitment to a job that generally goes un-noticed until something tragic occurs. May God bless you, and your family and continue to hold them in his presence for the rest of their days.

I am so saddened and sickened to hear of this tragic act of cowardice. A sensless and brutal murder of two fine officers by such vile animals.
I pray for the family, friends and colleagues of these fine men and for their community as a whole. We lost an officer in our small rural county in a similar manner a little over a year ago and it cuts the whole community to the bone.
I know that these two brave officers who stood the last roll call now walk a beat on Heaven's Streets with St. Michael. I also pray that the animals responsible for this horrific crime are swiftly brought to justice. Be safe out there brothers and sisters.
