ON SUNDAY MARCH 14TH MY WIFE, KIDS AND I WERE IN HUNTINGTON FOR A FAMILY REUNION. WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING OUR WAY AND HAD PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS. BY CHANCE MY WIFE LOOKED UP AND NOTICED OFFICER LOGAN’S PATROL CAR BEHIND THE COMMUNITY CENTER, BUT DECIDED NOT TO BOTHER HIM BECAUSE IT APPEARED HE WAS ON A TRAFFIC STOP. WHEN WE LEFT THE REUNION WE FOUND OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED, WE WERE DEVASTATED. DID GOD PLACE US THERE, AT THAT TIME AND PLACE? WOULD OUR PRESENCE THERE HAVE STOPPED THIS FROM HAPPENING? I DON’T KNOW. BUT I DO KNOW THAT ALTHOUGH WE NEVER MET JOHN AND OUR PATHS ONLY NARROWLY CROSSED, MY WIFE AND I WERE TOUCHED BY THIS OUTSTANDING OFFICER WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR OUR SAFETY. OUR HARTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO JOHN’S WIFE AND KIDS, HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND TO HIS COWORKERS THERE IN THE HUNTINGTON AREA. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND BRING YOU PEACE. MAY HE WATCH OVER AND PROTECT YOU ALL.

Hold fast to your memories,
to all of the cherished moments of the past,
to the blessings and the laughter,
the joys and the celebrations,
the sorrow and the tears.

They all add up to a treasure
of fond yesterdays
that you shared and spent together,
and they keep the one you loved
close to you in spirit and thought.

The special moments
and memories in your life
will never change.
They will always be in your heart,
today and forevermore.

My heart is with the wife and children of Officer Logan. And also with his family and many friends.I know he was a very honorable man who was loved by many.My family and I will keep you all in our prayers.

My condolences go out to the family and friends of John. My grandfather has been a cop for 25 years and has been close to being killed. I think we should all thank God for such brave men and women who protect and serve our communities. They are the ones who sacrifice everything to give our nation a better place to live in. THANK YOU John and the rest of the police force for your dedicated lives. Without you this world would be much worse.

How do you go and do this to me?.
Life just sometimes isn't fair.
Why take away something that means so much to me
And everything we've asked in our prayers?.
Why do you not warn me or give me a chance to say good-bye.
Why leave me with nothing at all except for the tears in my eyes.
Some say...well at least he is not suffering anymore and that he is in a better place, but why leave us with just memories and a mental picture of your face.
The hours go by and I still feel the same, immobility overcomes my body when I hear your name.
I can get through this, but its just to real although I know you are better now It doesn't change the amount of pain I feel.
You were a truly family man, once I could share good times, but I guess I will no longer live them, yet sort them out through my mind....
How could God do this to me?
Put you on a pedestal and then take you right down
I guess we will once reunite when my turn comes around.

Please accept my heartfelt condolonces.May our Father hold you tight and wipe your tears. May God bless you and your children, and the Huntington PD.

Sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of Officer John Logan... he will truly be missed by many. Officer Logan was a true HERO in every sense of the word... he spent his life serving and protecting others... and in death he leaves part of himself to others who would otherwise never have had that second chance in life. No greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for his brother. Thank You John Logan for being a HERO in my eyes.
