I am sorry to hear of another fine young Police Officer to take the responsibility of "laying his life down for (society)
a friend." Too many are paying the ultimate price.
God be with the wife/baby and family. Give them the strength to go on and give them the faith to be strong. My deepest sympathy to the family and those fellow Officers who worked with this brave young man. My prayers are with all of you !
Rest in Peace Warrior and Brother........

Brother in arms

March 13, 2004

My condolonces go out to the Scott family. It has only been a few weeks since my brother, P.O. Matt Bowens of the Detroit P.D., was brutally murdered so I understand your pain. There aren't any words that can help with your loss but stand proud for your fallen loved one. He died a hero and will always be with you. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Matt and his partner Jennifer. They all died doing what they loved and it's our responsibility to make sure people never forget that!! God bless your entire family!!!

This is being sent with a heavy heart. I am sorrowed by the loss of Deputy Scott. He was only doing a job he chose. The job did not choose him. He paid the ulitimate price in Law Enforcement to lay down his life for the life of another.

I send my condelences to his brother officers and friends and loved ones. May God Bless and Keep them all.

Deputy Scott your Death will not be forgotten.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

God Bless. In England, we don't always face the same threats from firearms as our brothers and sisters throughout the rest of the world so often do, but it always saddens me to read of such a senseless loss. I know that Jason will not be forgotten, and that his family and friends will be taken care of. This care won't reduce their sense of such a terrible, pointless loss, but it may provide them with some small comfort to know how well Jason was thought of.

I came home this moring after my night shift and was able to hold my beautiful child. This hero will now never get that same opportunity and my heart goes out to his family. Let his child know why she can't see her dad, let her know that he died saving a mom so that her children can see her. Let his child understand what her fathers sacrafice means to the entire country and the world. Surround her with love and let her be proud that her father is a hero who helped save the world.

Only moments ago I heard a news report that your murderer continues to be barricaded and is heavily armed. Rest assured my brother, that your Tennessee Police Brothers and Sisters will bring him to justice . . . and will do what ever must be done in doing so. Watch down over them . . . guide them to safely accomplish their mission. No one can ask any more of you . . . you've given your all . . . you've protected every one of us . . . you are a true hero and warrior. Our brotherhood and Heavenly Father will look after your family. You rest now. Thank you for your dedication, service and ultimate sacrifice. With brotherly love and respect, Jim Crotty (Former Richmond, VA Police Officer).

Never will I forget the request for assistance to Loudon county that me and my fellow officers heard on Friday, March 12, 2004, at approx. 0830. Never has my heart raced so hard. Never have I driven so fast. The words you never want to hear fresh on my ears; "Officer down!" A brother in need, a brother down, and now, a brother gone. It was a long day. I didn't want to leave. I didn't even know Jason, but he was my brother.

To Jason's family and friends, please accept my heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers. You will all be in my heart. And let the Bible verse Matthew 5:9 always bring you comfort in your difficult times now and ahead: "Blessed ARE the peacekeepers, for they shall be called the sons of God."

ONLY THE BEST

One heart of gold stopped beating
Two shinning eyes at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best

God knows you had to leave us
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day he took you home

To some they may forget
To others part of the past
But to those of us who knew you
Your memory will forever last

May the Lord bless your family and all your loved ones. May he also grant them the strength and love that they will need to continue in your absence. You have paid the ultimate price for serving your community and trying to make it a better place for all to live in. Now you will reap the Lords ultimate blessing and continue your patrol on the streets of Heaven. May justice be served swiftly.
